A federal judge in Corpus Christi blocked the further implementation of Texas’ controversial voter identification law, after finding for a second time that it intentionally discriminates against minorities. In a court order Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Nelva Gonzales Ramos blocked Texas from implementing portions of the 2011 voter ID law, which was considered to be one of the strictest in the country. And in a striking blow to the state, she blocked entirely a revamp to the law that the state legislature had passed earlier this year as Senate Bill 5. The legislation was an effort to appease Ramos and do away with the finding of discriminatory intent. “Even if such a turning back of the clock were possible, the provisions of SB 5 fall short of mitigating the discriminatory provisions of SB 14,” Ramos wrote. The original voter ID bill was passed as Senate Bill 14. Ramos had previously ruled in 2014 that the law was purposefully discriminatory, but that ruling was appealed to the United States 5th Circuit Court of Appeals. The appeals court ruled that the law had discriminatory effects, but asked Ramos to reconsider her ruling that it was drawn up with discriminatory intent. There needs to be a drastic overhaul of our courts system that cares not about the will of the state's voters. How is requiring an ID discrimination? The illegal rabble need an Id to cash their welfare check, to rent a place to live, to rent videos, to drive, to do many things in life....especially to vote like a U. S. Citizen. Can't get an ID? Then get the hell out of America as you are trespassing!

Uhhhhh,am I the only one seeing a conflict of interest here? In the entire history of the world,the only nations that had to build walls to keep their own citizens from leaving were those with leftist governments.

And every person who enter this judge's federal courthouse has to be searched and present rigorous documentation of their identity.
Excellent point! The Judge is kept safe while our Republic is endangered by allowing illegals to cast a vote to help the enemies of our Republic! Liberals are like Slinkys. They're good for nothing, but somehow they bring a smile to your face as you shove them down the stairs.
Any plaintiff appearing in her court to demand that voter ID laws be set aside would have to present the same type of ID (or better) than is required to vote. No one gets into federal courthouses without ID and going past armed guards and metal detectors. The irony is deep with this she-judge.
