(A video of the little pansy is at the link)

Fox News host Shepard Smith said Wednesday that the network tried and failed to get a Republican on-air to defend President Trump's controversial comments on violence in Charlottesville, Va., over the weekend

"Our booking team — and they're good — reached out to Republicans of all stripes across the country today," Smith said on his show "Shepard Smith Reporting."

"Let's be honest, Republicans don't often really mind coming on Fox News Channel. We couldn't get anyone to come and defend him here because we thought, in balance, someone should do that," he continued.

"We worked very hard at it throughout the day, and we were unsuccessful. And of those who are condemning the president's condemnable actions, I've not heard any prominent leaders, former presidents, members of the House or the Senate use his name while speaking in generalities," he said.

Smith's comments followed an off-the-rails press conference by Trump on Tuesday, during which he reasserted claims that "both sides" were to blame for violence during a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville on Saturday that ultimately left one dead and at least 19 others injured.

“You had a lot of people in that group that were there to innocently protest and very legally protest," Trump said, referring to individuals protesting against the removal of a Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee statue in the town.

“Not all of those people were white supremacists, by any stretch."

Various Republicans have spoken out against white supremacy and bigotry following Trump's press briefing.

“We must be clear. White supremacy is repulsive. This bigotry is counter to all this country stands for. There can be no moral ambiguity,” House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) tweeted after Trump's remarks.

Former Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush issued a joint statement on Wednesday saying the U.S. must reject hatred in all forms. Tags Paul Ryan

Poster Comment:

The Republicrats are as bankrupted as are the Democrats. Only two Republicans in the House and one in the Senate has a perfect record of supporting the Constitution and living up to their oath of office.

Trump is right.

The Republicans, on the other hand, and merely demonstrating yet again that they are the filthy shitstains that I have long said they are: "Fox's Shep Smith: We couldn't find a Republican willing to come on and defend Trump"

America's state of affairs today being lousy, the blame lies at the feet of the moderates (they stand for nothing) and the entire left spectrum.

I'm glad I'm a far right thinking American and it's due to the fact that I've lived as long as I have and understand what our history has meant to today's pitiful situation.

Having said that, I'm 'all in' as the poker players say, with Donald J. Trump! Having a White Supremacy gathering is as important as the Congress having a Black Caucus and taking to the streets to maim, destroy and loot under the banner of 'Black Lives Matter', having a Miss Black America, a black cable network, and on and on and on.

Then we have the matter of the rights of pedophiles, homosexuals and other assorted types who soil and destroy the fabric of a once decent America.

I reject the blame utterly. I am a moderate, and I stand for a LOT of things, and I stand against a lot of things.

Two examples: (1) I stand against abortion on demand because it's murder, BUT I recognize that if you're going to strike that out of the law, then you have to be prepared, in parallel, for a very large expansion of the social welfare state to provide for the millions of new poor babies that we will most certainly have if we really do strike down Roe. And I stand against everybody who pretends otherwise.

(2) I oppose both socialism AND Reaganomics. Neither works. Regulated market capitalism with social support is the best mix. Purist socialism impoverishes everyone, Reaganomics impoverishes the bottom 75%. Neither is good enough.

The country is in the shitter because foolish ideas from the far Left and the far Right have been allowed to leave the asylum and take over the government.

I stand for plenty - most of it opposed to the two lunatic fringes who are big of mouth and small of common sense.

Big difference.

The moderate 'Republicrats' in Congress, with the exception of two senators and one representative, vote to uphold the Constitution 100% of the time. A national disgrace!

Moderates in Congress are those weasels who vote on average about 50% of the time to uphold the Constitution. Believe me, the problem NEVER rests with those who are Conservative 100% of the time, it's dupes like you who allow that 50% to join with the communist pansies whom we've allowed to rule and ruin our lives and country.

Romney is a 'moderate' as were Bushes I and II. Toss McCain in there as well. Nice company.
