There’s a new iPhone craze on the subway, and it’s not the latest Candy Crush update. New York women have discovered that creepy men are using the iPhone AirDrop app to send them photos of their privates while on the same train. Since more straphangers using the MTA are carrying advanced iPhones and awareness of the AirDrop app has increased, local straphangers have started noticing a troubling trend first reported in London in 2015. Britta Carlson, 28, was riding the uptown 6 train to a concert on July 27 when a mysterious message popped up on her smartphone. “iPhone 1 would like to share a note with you,” read the note sent at 6:51 p.m. She hit “Accept” and was horrified by what she saw. “It was just a huge close-up picture of a disgusting penis,” said Carlson, of Bushwick, Brooklyn. The message was titled “Straw” and was sent by an anonymous stranger. “It really felt like someone had actually just flashed me.” Carlson clutched the phone to her chest and frantically scanned the subway car for the pervert but couldn’t place him. In order for pervs to send lewd photos, iPhone owners must have their AirDrop setting on “Everyone,” instead of “Contacts Only” or “Receiving Off.” The app, which was released for iPhones in 2013, uses “Contacts Only” as the default setting and doesn’t work with Androids or Windows phones. The victim must also be within Bluetooth range, which is approximately 328 feet. People often forget to switch the setting off from “Everyone,” or don’t realize they have turned it on. Carlson had her AirDrop switched to “Everyone” because she used it to send photos at work. “It never even crossed my mind that someone may use it to send stuff like that,” she admitted. Frankie Navisch, 35, had just gotten off a train at Penn Station when an invitation to open “Eduardo’s picture” — with a preview photo of a man’s junk — popped up on his screen. “I wanted to punch him in the mouth for carelessly buckshotting genitalia to phones that could potentially be owned by children,” seethed Navisch, of Harlem. “Was he looking for interaction, or is all he wanted was someone to look at his mini-monstrosity?” Serial exhibitionists are likely attracted to using AirDrop to trap victims because of the anonymity. “In the past, flashers would have to go out in public in a trench coat and risk getting arrested,” said Brad Salzman, a sex-addiction therapist. “Now . . . their minds can run wild.” Apple declined to comment.

Did she also have a sign on her back that said, "Kick me"? Time to take some personal responsibility, sweetheart. (I wonder how long she'll keep the image on her phone?)
I just loved that picture of her. That's the reason I posted this thread. LOL Finally, her 15 minutes of fame have arrived (since this story has been syndicated pretty widely). And it shows a plain white woman looking dowdy and menopausal and with some strangely painted eyebrows looked less than thrilled that her claim to fame is that some guy on the subway AirDropped her his dick pix and scared her half to death. Andy Warhol was a prophet.
Yes. Thank you for AirDropping that picture. I'm guessing that's the first penis she's ever seen. By the way, I just now noticed that she has a nose ring. Couple that with the purple hair and the black fingernail polish, I'm thinking she's more disgusting than some penis pic.
Probably a tossup. The vast majority of dick pix are very very ugly or pathetic. Scan through the Craigslist sex ads sometime. Yikes. Given how unattractive the victim was, you start to wonder if the AirDrop Flasher even exists. Surely on a ride of NYC subway, you could find some iPhone-owner with bad security settings more worthy of sending a dick pic to. Not that I send dick pix. I'm just saying...
I'm uncomfortable as to where this is heading. And FYI, I have scanned through the Craigslist sex ads and I don't agree.
If you think those Craigslist pix are all real pix, you should check them. Take any semi-decent pic you see on Craigslist. Drag it to your desktop. Load a browser tab with http://tineye.com and then drag-drop the pic from your desktop on the browser window for TinEye. It will upload and scan it against their huge online pic database. What you'll find is that anything that isn't butt-ugly on Craigslist is just some recycled porn from elsewhere on the internet by fakes or scammers or phishers. Craigslist personal ads are a huge huge scam. I also suspect some of them are blackmailer types, just trying to gather damaging info from desperate horny people.
Yeah. I have to modify my picture on Craigslist. I mean, if I posted an actual picture of my you know, people wouldn't believe it. So I have to crop it. As least enough to get it off the ground.
Good grief - how old are you, 12? Seems like you two pervs are always posting/discussing something about dicks. Not just dicks. Craigslist personals are chock full of fake pics of all kinds. And people know it and still try to post ads there. They're really desperate for some action. I find the scamming kinda fascinating. There's a whole human pathos to Craigslist personals that is hard to describe adequately.

15 minutes of fame is short-lived media publicity or celebrity of an individual or phenomenon. The expression was inspired by Andy Warhol's words "In the future, everyone will be world-famous for 15 minutes", which appeared in the program for a 1968 exhibition of his work at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm, Sweden.[1] Photographer Nat Finkelstein claims credit for the expression, stating that he was photographing Warhol in 1966 for a proposed book.
