Ms Damond, also known as Justine Ruszczyk, was killed in Minneapolis about 11.30pm local time on Saturday after two officers responded to a report of a possible assault. The 40-year-old, who was originally from Sydney, was a trained veterinarian who worked as a spiritual healer and meditation teacher. "We are so sad to report the tragic shooting of Justine Damond," the community's post said. "Justine was one of the most loving people you would ever meet. We can't even imagine LHSC without her." Neighbours and friends are demanding answers as to why the popular woman was shot by police. Minneapolis mayor Betsy Hodges wants to know why the officers' body cameras were off. "I am heartsick and deeply disturbed by what happened," she posted on Facebook. "I have been working on behalf of all of you all night and all day and I will continue to do so. "I share your questions and concerns and continue to seek answers." The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said two Minneapolis police officers responded to a 911 call of a possible assault just north of the 5100 block of Washburn Avenue South. "At one point an officer fired their weapon, fatally striking a woman," it said in a statement. "The officers' body cameras were not turned on at the time and the squad camera did not capture the incident. "Investigators are attempting to determine whether any video of the incident exists." Neighbours are now demanding answers, leaving a sign out asking police "why did you shoot and kill our neighbor and friend?" The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade says it's providing consular support to the family of an Australian woman killed in the US. A vigil for Ms Damond is planned for 6pm Sunday in Fulton, near the scene of the shooting.

That happens far too often. From the article it says that she ...was shot dead after reporting an alley way assault to police. I'll bet the cops will claim that they "feared for their lives". That line always works as justification for killing an innocent citizen. Wonder if BLM will join the vigil - oh wait. She was white.

I am truly shocked the clan has not been here in force, circling the wagons, telling us all sorts of reasons that this woman was a degenerate, and deserved what she got. I read on another site that the officer was a Somali, fairly new officer ( new hero ). Wonder if that has anything to do with what happened, and why story not getting much exposure ?
We still have not heard a good reason why she was shot. Not even a good BS reason ( where is the clan? ). Maybe, since the cop is Somali, and the woman was white, maybe the Somali was conducting jihad ?

WND has learned [Mohamed Noor] was one of five Somalis on the entire force and that the city makes a special effort to recruit Somalis as part of its affirmative-action plan.
The city's affirmative-action program requires it to give preferential treatment to minorities, not only those hired by the city but by all contractors awarded contracts of more than $100,000.
The city's leaders bemoaned the fact that they could not come up with more blacks to staff 100 new positions that came open at the end of 2014. The Star-Tribune, in an Aug. 19, 2014, article headlined "Minneapolis police struggle to hire diverse force," interviewed several activists who took the city to task for allowing the number of black officers to dwindle.
With 100 new openings, the city was all but apologizing for the fact that at least 71 percent would be white, saying it had tried everything to recruit more blacks over the years, including a pre-high school academy that nurtured young black kids who showed an interest in law enforcement. But was having only marginal success.
"Minneapolis police have about half the black and Hispanic officers they need to accurately reflect the city's population, records show. This comes despite years of diversity plans, legal action and a federal mediation agreement sparked by low levels of minority representation within the police," the Star Tribune reported.
