Title: Thousands march at Paris Gay Pride to demand procreation for all

Thousands of people took to the streets of the French capital Saturday for the fortieth Paris Gay Pride rally to remind French President Emmanuel Macron of his election promise to make medically assisted procreation (MAP) available for all.

Macron tweeted on Saturday: "France is a rainbow, we are rich in our diversities, let us be proud of ourselves! #MarcheDesFiertés # LoveisLove". During his presidential campaign, he said he was "in favour" of opening MAP, currently reserved for sterile heterosexual couples, to lesbian couples and single women.

This remains a sensitive issue in a country where crowds have also marched against such demands by LGBT groups. In 2013, then President Francois Hollande’s government dropped an amendment to the same-sex marriage bill to allow gay couples to have children using MAP.

The following year, a French court prevented two lesbians from officially adopting babies born to their partners through MAP – even though the process happened in Belgium, where it was already legal.

Later in 2014, the highest French appeals court allowed gay couples to legally adopt children using MAP if the procedure happens abroad. But it remains illegal in France.

France’s National Advisory Committee on Ethics will on Tuesday deliver a long-awaited recommendation on MAP, with a particular focus on lesbian couples.

'It's been forty years, and it's not over!'

Saturday’s march swept across the historic heart of Paris to the Place de la République, where events went on until 10pm.

Mickaël Bucheron, president of the FLAG association – the LGBT group of law enforcement officers, which had included the policeman Xavier Jugelé, killed in a terrorist attack on the Champs-Élysées in April – marched to "tell the population that the police is diverse".

"It's been forty years, and it's not over!" exclaimed the spokeswoman for the organising association, the Inter-LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender). "We are not here to ask for crumbs, but rights, and that is why we are just a few metres from the National Assembly."

Draped in rainbow flags, teenagers Agathe, Marwa and Laura said they were there "to move things forward" and hailed the fact that "young people are more open" about their sexual orientation.

Two high school teachers, Jean-Luc and Franck, lost count of how long they have been going to the rally: "Our first time? Twenty years ago, at least." They also spared a thought for those "in other countries who aren’t allowed to do what they’re allowed to do here".

Yup. And now God will curse France. As they have hardened their hearts and allowed their hearts to be deceived, both the Mooslem Death Cultists and disciples of Sodom & Gommorah will rapidly corrode and destroy it from within.

I give France a decade at most before it is swallowed up and becomes a hell on earth.

Most of the EU as well as nearby h0m0-facsist/Christian-hating Canada earns the same fate.

The US? No doubt -- we are close to CW2. However, too many Christians and Constitutional conservatives are armed, ready, and righteously fed up. We WILL defend ourselves from fascism and demon-inspired politicians who believe that can continue steamrolling America.

It is cursed. And been swishy since WW2.

The parasitic Death Cultists of Islam are going to sweep through France with only 10% of its population. EXCEPT that the vast majority of this 10% are vicious, insane fighting age MEN with nothing to lose (except their govt-issued FREEBIES.) They will make the Germans and their occupation and treatment of the French people seem like Boy-Scouts helping little old ladies walk across the street.

The suicidal pro-Muzzie LBGTQXYZ contingent will be butchered still grasping their rainbow flags in their hands (or rolled up and used as suppositories.)

Btw, since you can't recall who "Rachel Corrie" was, this may jar your memory. Here is the Leftist-lunatic, sporting her Pali garb, lighting a fire to an American "flag". It wasn't long after this that she stood in front of an Israeli bulldozer and dared it to pancake her. We now have MILLIONS of Rachel Corries who hate the USA right here, festooning the Democrat Party

Corrie (from the Seattle area I believe -- a Leftist hellhole) was the unanimous Gold Medal winner that year for the prestigious Darwin Award.

You're dipping into the Old Testament for these ideas. The New Testament is pretty silent on the notion of God cursing various nations. Even in the O.T., it is Israel whose fate is inflicted as a punishment from God, more so than the enemies of Israel.

Because it was not the Mission of the NT. The Gospel is...

That said, although there are many references in the NT that may not "curse" nations, we ARE indeed reminded us that individuals' souls may be damned/cursed if we insist on creating our own R&Rs for a personal, customized Gospel. Paul in particular is not shy about this, is he?

God has not changed. He is the very same Almighty He was in the OT. Hence, would He not still bless/curse nations for their obedience/disobedience?

Yes, Israel is seemingly a scriptural enigma. "Obedience" and perseverance is THE theme. It applies to ALL.

Israel: The ONLY nation mentioned BY NAME that is BOTH protected and blessed specifically as "God's People" -- the "Chosen" ones -- but also to be scattered and cursed as would be prophesied.

Sure. I was only addressing the idea among Christians that God is cursing nations in the sense of cursed nations or persons in the Old Testament.

Let Us Reason: Should a Christian be Concerned about Curses Today?
It is not my intention to address any specific teachers philosophy on this subject but in general look at the common teaching shared by them all. Today, the teaching of curses it has been popularized by Neil Anderson, Joyce Meyers, Marilyn Hickey, Larry Huch, Benny Hinn, Cleansing Streams and many more. You will find that 90% of their teaching on curses is from the Old Testament, Why? Because you cannot justify this teaching by New Testament! There are some who have written books and devoted their whole ministry to taking care of a curse that is not mentioned in the New Testament.

In the New Testament, in Jesus’ ministry He cursed only one thing-- the fig tree, saying, “Let no fruit grow on you ever again,” and the fig tree withered (Mt. 21:19; Mark 11:14).

He also spoke about curses from people. In the only reference in the New Testament where He tells us what to do if someone cursed us, Jesus said, “Bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you” (Luke 6:28). He did not give us fancy methods, or special words on how to break curses. He taught the believers specifically how to deal with curses without any superstitious teachings that would bring fear of an evil that would occur to them. BLESS THEM. In other words-- do good to them by your actions; try to reach them. Jesus did not give a supernatural spiritual solution but a very practical one-- do what they would have done by someone who is their friend and cares for them.

The linked article has a long discussion of curses in scripture (95% O.T.) with a brief discussion of each.

Good points, post and link. I get it.

NOT a fan of those so-called "Christians" or fake "Christian leaders" tossing around "CURSED!!" as though they were M&Ms or beads at a NOLA Mardi Gras. They abuse the whole "cursed" thing.

Many of us still believe in the notion that America, THIS Republic was originally blessed because our Founders were collectively OBEDIENT to the Word, respectful of The Word, based their Republic largely ON The Word -- God's Word...

Once the secular humanists hijacked America's morals, "education," and established THEIR morality and moral relativism, it can be said that His blessings are lifted. Nay...we may now have well invited in Satan and yes, become self-cursed. FOR cursing God. Makes perfect sense to me.

What do *your* eyes, ears, and heart tell *you* as a cultural observer and Believer?

MOREOVER -- With respect to OT vs. NT, the Lord and His laws and word STILL does not change, does He/it? Jesus = The Father.

An aside: Paul speaks for God, for Jesus. Harshly. (See Romans 1:18-1:32. The Lord's wrath upon "Unrighteousness" can be construed as warning OR "curse", can't it?)

Jesus is not the Father. We are not modalists, I think.

Well, it may or may not make sense. I'm addressing whether there is any scriptural basis for those beliefs about curses and whether curses are or are not a part of modern Christian concerns about their day-to-day circumstances in a secular society. I don't find anything in the New Testament to support the idea of being cursed as something that applies to Christians. The few mentions of curses in the N.T. refer to the lifting of the "curse of the (O.T.) law" for Christians (as opposed to Judaism, which was the native religion of most early Christians as well as Jesus' own disciples and others like Paul).

An aside: Paul speaks for God, for Jesus. Harshly. (See Romans 1:18-1:32. The Lord's wrath upon "Unrighteousness" can be construed as warning OR "curse", can't it?)

Paul spoke for his own time, writing to and preaching to specific churches. When Paul wrote an epistle to a particular church, we have to remember he was primarily aiming a particular set of messages at particular leaders and members of a given church.

So when you consider Paul as someone with something akin to the relationship of a bishop to a local church, it does make a bit more sense overall. I'm not saying that those epistles are not full of wisdom and general instruction or that they aren't "real scripture". But they were addressed to those churches and individuals, at least as much as to us. Paul didn't write any general epistles that start out with a greeting of "To whom it may concern:". This is a notable feature of his writings and the writings of others.

And we should in any event be looking to the attested words of Jesus from the Gospels for our primary guidance. The Gospel (the four gospel scriptures) were considered a good and sufficient guide to Christian life and faith for a long time in the early churches. Paul and Peter and others add to that testimony and teaching but they don't overrule it and they are not more primary sources (generally) than the Gospels themselves.

In general, there is a good theological argument to say that Christians cannot be possessed by evil spirits and that they cannot be cursed by God. And there is nothing in the N.T. to support the idea of God choosing to curse modern nations, no matter how awful and ungodly they are.

Thanks for your perspective and response.

There are a number of issues with which I have (as you no doubt expect). I'll have to return to address your response and said issues with specificity later on.

I'll leave you with this:

When Isaiah -- of whom God spoke through -- said, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness …", could his "Woe" and admonition for having rejected His instruction of and flouted His authority be construed as a "curse"? Paul just happens to echo this same sentiment in other words -- as well as refer to the authority of Old Testament many times.

Sure, we can play semantics...Then again, it's a good thing the spirit of God's Law and authority of the Apostles in speaking for Jesus as the Inspired Word of God thankfully can't be parsed and dismissed by the ABA.

Yes, I *know God is not the Father. I was and am referring to *authority*. Same as in the case the other Apostles as well as Paul, of whom btw -- do you actually really believe Paul and his letters/writings were merely "akin to the relationship of a bishop to a local church"??

I haven't heard of many church Bishops who hated and murdered Christians before getting knocked of their horse, blinded, then doing a complete 180....and speaking WITH the authority of the Holy Spirit. Just sayin'.

Well said. I think I'm in complete agreement. I started to write something along those lines but I was too distracted.

The gist of the link you posted above is on the right track, although he gets a bit scattered in the last 1/3. He doesn't mention Jesus assertion that he is the new covenant, which is germane to many OT/NT misunderstandings.

Luke 22:19-20 (ASV)

And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and gave to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. And the cup in like manner after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood, even that which is poured out for you.
