It would be considered rude for a non-Muslim to drink in front of Muslims during Ramadan. I found that out first-hand when we were in Zanzibar (99% Muslim) during Ramadan. I was drinking from a water bottle while walking the streets (because it was like a thousand degrees) and Muslim women were hissing at me. I later mentioned this to fellow travelers and they filled me in on the custom. They suggested that we simply go out of sight -- to a restaurant or shop -- if we wanted to eat or drink.
