The shocking moment a man shot and killed a gunman in a shootout has been captured on surveillance video - and police say he won't be charged. A motorist pulled out a gun when Ronald Morales, 43, approached his car at a gas station in Elmwood Park, Illinois. The men shot at each other multiple times in broad daylight before Morales ran away and the driver sped off. Morales eventually died from his injuries - but police say they won't be charging the man who killed him because he was acting in self defense. Police say on April 8, at 4:52pm, Ronald Morales (seen in red jacket) made eye contact with a man pumping gas at BP gas station in Elmwood Park, Illinois Morales exited the convenience store and approached the man, who by then was back in his vehicle Morales threatened the driver with his gun before the man stepped out with his own firearm, and the two exchanged bullets for about five seconds Police say on April 8, at 4:52pm, Morales made eye contact with a man who was pumping gas into his vehicle. Morales exited the convenience store at the BP gas station on Grand Avenue in Elmwood Park. He walked over to the car and pulled out his gun. By then, the man who had been pumping gas was back in his vehicle. Morales opened the passenger door of the car and then closed it before speaking to the man inside through the window. The man felt he was in danger, according to police, and exited his vehicle armed with his own gun - and the two exchanged gunfire. They say this allowed them to to quickly corroborate information gathered from eyewitnesses, the man who survived the shootout and the vehicle occupants. Police say that because the man was acting in self defense, they won't be pressing charges.

The driver needs a bigger gun. Or hollow points. Or more range time. But I can say that because I wasn't there with another guy shooting at me.
I'm content that piece of shit is dead, but that's a difficult situation with the dark SUV pulling into the line of fire like that. I wonder if the guy shooting from his car even noticed that, or had tunnel-vision due to stress? Apparently no third-party injuries, so luck prevailed in this instance. This sort of situation is why I keep one weapon within reach in the vehicle, since getting to the ankle holster is difficult and time-consuming inside it. But my primary line of defense is living at least 500 miles away from these lowlifes, so have never even considered having to present a weapon in self-defense. Around here, potential bad guys know they're likely to get shot, so they live in places like the democRat Wonderland of Shitcago instead.

I liked the determination of the SUV driver, plowing right through the crossfire to get to his Slur-Pee. Nicely done.
