WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Donald Trump has fired FBI Director James Comey. In a statement, Trump says Comey's firing "will mark a new beginning" for the FBI. The White House says the search for a new FBI director will begin immediately. Comey's firing comes days after he testified on Capitol Hill about the FBI's investigation into Russia's election meddling and possible connections between Russia and Trump's campaign.

Long overdue. The testimony of Comey, Clapper and Yates was rife with problems. If they knew that Flynn had been compromised, or had subjected himself to compromise, by the Russians, why did nobody take action to revoke the access authorization and the clearance of Flynn? If Comey knew that Huma Abedin forwarded hundreds and thousands of State Department emails, including very highly classified emails, to the private, personal computer of Carlos Danger, where are the reports of possible compromise for these documents? What action was taken to revoke the access authorization and clearance of Huma Abedin and Hillary Clinton?
It took him this long? He has always been an Obama worker.
Comey got a laugh though. And he thought it was a prank. Comey was "caught flat-footed," when he looked up and saw on TV that he was fired, according to the Los Angeles Times. Comey was speaking to FBI agents at a recruiting event and was set to give a speech shortly after. When he saw the news report on TV, he allegedly laughed and said he thought it was a fairly funny prank. He was then ushered into an office by staff, who confirmed to him that he had been fired. He had not heard from the White House before seeing the television report. Comey, whose day began in Florida speaking to police officers, did not give his speech in Los Angeles. I think Trump should consider doing an Oval Office version of Celebrity Apprentice, along with the inevitable pronouncement: "Ya fahd".
What action was taken to revoke the access authorization and clearance of Huma Abedin and Hillary Clinton? Did you miss the part where Comey declared that Hitlery had no "intent"? Despite the fact that all these security laws specifically state that intent is absolutely irrelevant to these national security laws. We have quite a number of people who have or are serving very long prison sentences despite having no "intent" of endangering national security in any way. The sub guy is still serving his sentence. What Hitlery and Huma and the other flunkies did is much worse than what the sailor did. Now, if Hitlery didn't ever transmit materials herself or strip off security markings from secret documents, you can't get her. But Huma and anyone else who removed materials from SCF rooms and stripped security headers can and should be prosecuted and serve long sentences.
I think the topper was when the FBI destroyed evidence after granting some of team Hitlery immunity. That line of questioning from Gowdy over last summer should have torpedoed Comey then.
Probably the most decisive presidential firing since the FAA firing by Reagan. You know the Dims are pooping their pants knowing their guy Comey is gone. Trump is also going to drop several federal court appointments later this week which due to Shoomies obstruction of Gorsuch he will get them all.
Seems small to me. I think Bush firing his SecDef as a sacrificial goat in the wake of the 2006 election was a much bigger story. No way Comey was as big a fish as Rumsfeld was. I'd compare the Comey firing to the firing of FEMA Director Brown (a.k.a. Brownie) in the wake of Katrina. On second thought, I think Brownie was the bigger scalp. Comey is an overinflated nobody, a strutting egoist who simply did not belong in that job and who didn't understand his duties or even the laws he was sworn to enforce. Comey is simply one of the worst directors the FBI has ever had. For God's sake, he was appointed by 0bama! Doesn't that tell us we shouldn't be crying over James Comey?
The Dems can obstruct by refusing to return blue slips for their home state judges. This would affect appointees if selected from 19 states where Dems hold 1 or 2 Senate seats. It would knock out the expected nomination of the Michigan and the Minnesota state court judges that Trump is supposed to name. However, the blue slip is only a tradition, not an actual Senate rule. So far, Grassley says he will honor it but notes that a predecessor (Hatch) ignored it a few times. If Dems go obstructionist on blue-slipping, I expect Grassley will ignore them and immediately schedule hearings.
Why are the news outlets covering the Comey limo to the airport like when OJ was trying to run from police? Lol have to give my cuz credit for that one.

Greetings Gatlin, Let me introduce myself. I am the interpreter of the news. The way I see it, Trump is doing the right thing. Comey would not lock Hillary up, so the last holdout of the Obama administration should indeed be fired, and especially when he is now charging Trump with such obvious BS. I say Good riddance!

So far I have been content will all of the Presidents appointments but one. Secretary of Education Betsey DeVos has done absolutely nothing but go to schools and eat cake and praise the lying scum teachers. He should have appointed me, the dept would be gone by now along with most to the public schools and the laws that force parents to send their kids to them.
My question is since he is fired and no longer director why is he in a US G0vt official car? Let the slug slither along like the rest of us in a bus or cab.

Well, that was not one of my official "2017 in Bible Prophecy" predictions, because the Revelation doesn't mention Le Penn. I just happened to like Le Penn and was voicing my personal opinion and trying to give her a little boost. The Revelation does speak highly of France though, and looks like its talking about Macron. I'm sure he will do just fine.
Perhaps. But there is something to be said for waiting a few months until Comey takes a trip to California and firing him while he is there. Trump got to seize control of Comey's office and everything in it.
