WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Donald Trump has fired FBI Director James Comey. In a statement, Trump says Comey's firing "will mark a new beginning" for the FBI. The White House says the search for a new FBI director will begin immediately. Comey's firing comes days after he testified on Capitol Hill about the FBI's investigation into Russia's election meddling and possible connections between Russia and Trump's campaign.

Comey got a laugh though. And he thought it was a prank. Comey was "caught flat-footed," when he looked up and saw on TV that he was fired, according to the Los Angeles Times. Comey was speaking to FBI agents at a recruiting event and was set to give a speech shortly after. When he saw the news report on TV, he allegedly laughed and said he thought it was a fairly funny prank. He was then ushered into an office by staff, who confirmed to him that he had been fired. He had not heard from the White House before seeing the television report. Comey, whose day began in Florida speaking to police officers, did not give his speech in Los Angeles. I think Trump should consider doing an Oval Office version of Celebrity Apprentice, along with the inevitable pronouncement: "Ya fahd".
Probably the most decisive presidential firing since the FAA firing by Reagan. You know the Dims are pooping their pants knowing their guy Comey is gone. Trump is also going to drop several federal court appointments later this week which due to Shoomies obstruction of Gorsuch he will get them all.
Seems small to me. I think Bush firing his SecDef as a sacrificial goat in the wake of the 2006 election was a much bigger story. No way Comey was as big a fish as Rumsfeld was. I'd compare the Comey firing to the firing of FEMA Director Brown (a.k.a. Brownie) in the wake of Katrina. On second thought, I think Brownie was the bigger scalp. Comey is an overinflated nobody, a strutting egoist who simply did not belong in that job and who didn't understand his duties or even the laws he was sworn to enforce. Comey is simply one of the worst directors the FBI has ever had. For God's sake, he was appointed by 0bama! Doesn't that tell us we shouldn't be crying over James Comey?
Why are the news outlets covering the Comey limo to the airport like when OJ was trying to run from police? Lol have to give my cuz credit for that one.
My question is since he is fired and no longer director why is he in a US G0vt official car? Let the slug slither along like the rest of us in a bus or cab.

On November 1, 2006, Bush stated he would stand by Rumsfeld as defense secretary for the length of his term as president.[102] Rumsfeld wrote a resignation letter dated November 6, and, per the stamp on the letter, Bush saw it on Election Day, November 7.[103] In the elections, the House and the Senate shifted to Democratic control. After the elections, on November 8, Bush announced Rumsfeld would resign his position as Secretary of Defense. Many Republicans were unhappy with the delay, believing they would have won more votes if voters had known Rumsfeld was resigning.[103]
