Title: Donald Trump: ‘We’re Very Happy with’ Republican Budget Agreement

President Donald Trump indicated that he would sign the Republican Budget agreement with Democrats, despite growing dissent from his base that Congressional Republicans caved on important priorities.

“We’re very happy with it,” Trump said in an interview with Bloomberg News, pointing to the $1.5 billion for border security. “And I think it’s important that we keep moving along. I think both sides are happy.”

After an agreement was reached, Democrats crowed that they were able to save funding for Planned Parenthood and block funding for the wall, despite Trump’s campaign promises.

“In a defeat for President Trump,” House Minority Nancy Pelosi wrote in a letter to Democrats, adding that the agreement “does not fund the immoral and unwise border wall or create a cruel new deportation force.”

Trump admitted there were not any dramatic cuts, and that it still funded Planned Parenthood in the agreement, but seemed optimistic that he could fight those battles in the future.

“This is all coming due again in September, October, and we’re going to have another round of discussions,” he said.

Trump blamed Democrats for being “obstructionists” in the process, indicating he was not looking for a government shutdown showdown in the first months of his presidency.

“Look, the Democrats are obstructionists; that’s all they can do is obstruct. They have no leadership. And we have to agree, and I think both — both sides agree, we have to keep government going, we don’t want to shut government,” he said. (1 image)

With this one single act, he turned me into a bitter enemy.

He CAMPAIGNED ON the Border Wall and defunding Planned Parenthood.

The Republicans HAVE THE POWER to force through anything, with the nuclear option. They also have the power to out wait the Democrats on a government option.

Instead, they quickly "give in" on funding, and betraying EVERY SINGLE THING.

THIS is Trump's "Read my lips" - then raising taxes moments.

THIS is the betrayal. There is no "wait and see" left here. If he didn't fight now, he never will. He never will. We have been betrayed.

Trump was the Republicans' last hope. He won because men and women who have been left behind came out and voted for him. He just betrayed them all in order to get along with Democrats and with Republicans who never wanted those things.

He should have shut down the government and made the fact that the government is shut down a virtue. Shut it down and leave it shut down - save money that way.

Fight - that's what he promised.

He didn't. He won't. We were betrayed. He's a liar.

NEVER AGAIN.

The Republicans crossed the Rubicon. They will now lose. Until a new party rises, we will have Democrat rule from the next election on out. Never again.

Fuck Trump.

Apparently, trump knows he stepped in it.

He's promising a government shutdown 'next time'.

It will fail, because people like me will not be there to support him "next time". There will be no next time, no third chance (his first blown chance was health care).

It's NOW, or never.

He has betrayed me. "Trust me, next time I will..." FUCK YOU, Trump. You will do it this time, or it's over.

Either Trump will change course now and save his Presidency, or we will have Democrat rule for the rest of our lives.

Which means we will have Democrat rule. Given that we have that ANYWAY under the Republicans and Trump, we may as well have honest socialists telling us what they plan to our face, as opposed to lying shitstains who say what they need to say to get power, and then simply shovel the public coffers into the wallets of the crony capitalists.

Yes, you DID tell me so. I preferred not to believe it. I gave Trump a chance. He failed me, twice in a month. I'm done with him.

Why did you lose your mind and what made you come to your senses.

I didn't lose my mind. I was right to be angry. I shrugged my shoulders and stopped much caring about Trump either. He had degraded himself to being another Republican.

Since then, I see Trump getting tormented by Democrats and Republicans over Russia. I see the injustice of it, but it's hard to really care. I would have been at the barricades fighting for him. But he didn't do that for me - he didn't do what he said he would do.

So, now we're in health care mode. The Senate health care plan was bad, but Trump was calling for it to be passed. Weak. Bad. It failed, which is good, and Trump seems to have come to his senses to realize that the Republicans are weak and pathetic, and that if he wants to be a strong, successful President, he cannot depend on THEM to carry him along.

He is thrown back, politically, on those of us who took the social beatings in order to support him. I gave the Republicans a lot of chances over the years, and only gave up on them after the umpteenth abuse.

So I suppose I am giving Trump the second chance, and third and fourth that I gave to the Republicans over the years.

It has helped that he has been unable to get anything done thanks to Republican fecklessness. He gets credit for Gorsuch - and that was keeping a promise.

His instincts were bad on the budget, and on the Republican health care bill, but since that failed he's back on his own.

I prefer to be an optimist and think that if the Republicans keep betraying him, as they have me, he will wake up and shake them off.
