On April 19, 2016, POTUS candidate Hillary Clinton was so tone-deaf that she actually wore a $12,500 Georgio Armani jacket to deliver a speech on income inequality. This is what the jacket looks like: The jacket inspired this clever email that’s making the rounds: I’m not sending this to blast Hillary for giving a speech about inequality while wearing a $12,500 Armani jacket. I’m posting this to congratulate Armani for being able to sell a potato sack with sleeves for $12,500, which, in this case, holds about 200 pounds of fertilizer. Poster Comment: The jacket is truly hideous, but even if it was gorgeous, Hillary would still be butt-ugly in it. There’s nothing you can do to fix her kind of ugly, since it comes from the inside out. Armani needs to take some advice from Ivanka Trump!

Would it be fair and relevant to criticize Trump for wearing expensive suits to various functions? Yep, that figures.
He always wears expensive suits. But if Trump usually dressed casually then wore a $47,500 Desmond Merrion suit to deliver a speech on income inequality ... yeah, I think it would be fair and relevant to criticize him. Moot point. He wouldn't deliver a speech on income inequality because that issue is bogus.
In the end you still have rich people in clothes costing more than a person in poverty earns in a year lecturing us all about poverty. Probably while advocating for tax policy changes to cut taxes on the rich (Trump and GOP) or Xlinton caginess on ways to allow the Fortune 500 to escape paying taxes through all kinds of loopholes in the tax code. I don't find either especially admirable. I also think that some of these designer clothes are given to women pols and celebs at a steep discount or even for free. I think a lot of Manchelle's ball gowns were like that. They would announce she had a ball gown for $20K or more, an evening dress about the same. Well, that would mean the 0bamas were spending 10% of their annual income in the White House on just two of Manchelle's pig-on-stilts fancy dresses. So something there did not add up to me. I'm sure Trump pays full price for suits. Hitlery? Maybe she gets a discount. After all, giving famous stars and pols your rags to wear at cost or for free is probably a donation you can deduct on your taxes as an advertising cost.
I have no idea what that means. Delivering a lecture on how to get out of poverty? I think that's a worthwhile lecture. "Probably while advocating for tax policy changes to cut taxes on the rich ..." Just the rich? Or everyone? Let's not forget ... if you're looking for a job you don't ask a poor person for one. "I also think that some of these designer clothes are given to women pols and celebs at a steep discount or even for free." Or simply loaned to them. No matter the method, it's the principle of the thing. Hillary's outfit is insensitive and contrary to the event. Not that I care. But if liberals can have thin skin, then so can I.
