To: rlk (#0) For years Jihadists and their supporters in the U. S. have been trying to get rid of Assad with intention of setting up a jihadist caliphate for futher jihadist expansion. Now, they are achieving success with stupid American military help. Assad is nowhere close to being overthrown. A message has been sent to the President of Syria: do not kill children with Sarin gas, or we will destroy your forces. So he won't do that. We have not stepped up our attacks, simply made a point in a way that really hurt. If Assad obeys, we are good. If he doesn't, we can up the pain. Obviously if Assad falls, Russia will be completely driven out of the Mediterranean. They have literally nowhere else to base their ships. So, Russia has an incentive to keep Assad in power, and that means to wipe out ISIS more quickly. So, come on Russia, get on with it and wipe out ISIS. If he didn't, he's been a bloody dictator for decades, and his father before him. This has always been a murderous and evil regime, so it's still justified. It is always justified to destroy the armed forces of the Syrian regime. They've been murderous for a half-century, and supporting terror against Israel for as long. Trump was convinced the Sarin gas attacks were done by the regime, so he destroyed the regime's planes from the base he was told whence the attacks came. Good. The Syrians have no right to gas anybody. But if the gas was a false flag, the Syrian regime deserved to get hit anyway, it's partial payment for 50 years of murder and oppression. In effect, the Syrian regime is so evil, it's ALWAYS open season on the Syrian government and military. We don't need a particular reason to do it. They're a sponsor of terror. We've had the right to invade them since 2001 for that reason alone, and that right will never decay as long as they are a sponsor of terror, which they will always be, because they are an ally of Iran and an implacable and permanent enemy of Israel. We have an open casus bellum against them any time we please. But this isn't even a war. This is just unilaterally blowing things up to hurt them. We can do that all day. Seeing them get 20 planes destroyed and suffer a huge expense makes me feel good, because the Syrian government are evil fucks. That's why. I don't care whether they were the source of the gassing THIS TIME or not. They have been a source of terror, evil and death for decades. We have the right to bomb them at any time, without any NEW reason - they have 50 years of murder to pay for. Fire at will.
