Title: Video Shows Teen Brutally Assaulted by Cops After Trying to Pay Fine in Quarters

Deming, NM — A video uploaded to Facebook this week shows what it looks like to attempt to pay a fine with quarters — in a police state. The video, uploaded by the teen’s father, Kevin Weaver, shows police swarm the young man after his form of payment for a fine was not accepted because it was in quarters. Whether or not the teen was attempting to make a point by using quarters, or that was all he had, is unknown. However, it is entirely safe to assume that since he was a teenager, the quarters were all he had. As the video begins, it is unclear what lead up to the Deming police officers swarming the teen. However, what happens next is perfectly clear. Officers, apparently upset with the teen for attempting to pay a fine in quarters, demanded that he take his hand out of his pocket. But, before he could comply, he was assaulted. The scene quickly turned chaotic with multiple cops bringing the teen down to the ground. Not wanting to be hurt by police, the teen appears to resist to protect himself. Eventually, police get him face down on the ground and in handcuffs as an officer kneels on his head. The boy’s mother can be seen in the video screaming out in sheer horror as police attack her son. When the mother asks why this is happening, one of the cops replies, “If the judge doesn’t want to accept them (quarters)…they told him, ‘roll them.’” Apparently, this judge has either never heard of, or is choosing to ignore U.S. Code 31.5103, which states, “United States coins and currency (including Federal reserve notes and circulating notes of Federal reserve banks and national banks) are legal tender for all debts, public charges, taxes, and dues.” Sadly, there are many supporters of the attack in the comments on the Facebook post. The majority of the comments say that had Weaver’s son simply obeyed everything the cops were telling him, then none of this would’ve happened. However, that is simply not true. The officers gave him almost no time to take his hand out of his pocket before attacking him. Also, what right did officer’s have to attack a young man for having his hand in his pocket in the first place? The teen’s fate is unclear as of now. However, he was arrested and taken away from the scene in a police cruiser. The Free Thought Project reached out to the Deming Police department for any information about this incident but we have received no response thus far. Below are the two videos of the incident.

Weird video. Since when do you pay your fine outside?
What we have here once again is Matt Agorist’s [of theFree Thought Project] “failure to communicate” the entire story. So, let us do that now … That is true, and the only part of this story that is true. These posted videos never show “what leads up to” the incidents in the stories. However, that is simply not true. The officers gave him almost no time to take his hand out of his pocket before attacking him. Also, what right did officer’s have to attack a young man for having his hand in his pocket in the first place? Matt Agorist presents absolutely no evidence that the officers gave Juan Weaver no time to take his hand out of his pocket before taking him down. He only expects you to explicitly believe him without question….and if you are a stupid asshole like Deckard, then you do. Otherwise, you go searching for the “rest of the story” to find out what really happened. Also Matt Agorist does not state that the officers repeatedly told Juan Weaver to keep his hand out of his pocket….others did state that. Here are some of those comments from Kevin Weaver’s facebook page … Shane Sowell He should of kept his hands out of his pocket like he was told, then he shouldn't of resisted. Officer safety is first and foremost! They don't know why he's reaching in his pocket. This has nothing to do with him paying in quarters. Micheal Phillips The cops where right in the actions they took , the young man wasn't going to harm the cops , but the cops don't know what people are going to do, when cops ask you to take hands out of pockets, take them out. If not they are going to then tell you to take hands out , if not, then for their safety and yours your going to the grown, that's how it is. I found this laughable … The Free Thought Project reaching out to the Deming PD for information reminds me of a story about an Australian visiting New York City …
Sadly, the nation appears to be riddled with cop-worshiping sheep like you. Matt Agorist presents absolutely no evidence that the officers gave Juan Weaver no time to take his hand out of his pocket before taking him down. They gave him two seconds - tops. As you would have known had you watched the video. I counted at least four cops around the teen, initially just talking to him. What led up to that? Why were four cops involved? I didn't see him paying any fine in quarters. Maybe he was planning to, but a pocketful of quarters can look like a pocketful of handgun. If I'm surrounded by four uneasy cops and I keep reaching into my pocket -- and they tell me to take my hand out of my pocket -- they wouldn't need to tell me twice.

Dallas Baker They didn't arrest him for paying his fine in quarters. He kept puttin his hand in his pocket, putting the cops uneasy. Wouldn't comply and then started fight the cops and resisting arrest. Good job buddy. You did it to yourself.
The Free Thought Project reached out to the Deming Police department for any information about this incident but we have received no response thus far.
An Australian was visiting New York City and doing the normal sight seeing walking tour. He studied the tourist map in his hand and found it confusing. He saw a policeman standing on the corner. So, he walked up to the policeman and asked the policeman: “Can give me directions to the Empire State Building, or do I just go fuck myself?
