At any one moment any time of day, good street theatre is being staged. There were 40 killed in Iraq Monday in a shoot-out with insurgents, according to the compliant press. In Israel, a suicide bomber slaughtered a number of innocents, again reported as an act of unspeakable and incomprehensible terrorism. Two months ago six Alabama churches were burned down, first reported as an act of arson by Jewish students. Following the church burnings, Muslims were incited to riot by scandalous cartoons printed by a Western newspaper, cartoons denigrating their religion. Let's not forget the riots in Paris, the genocide in Africa and recently a mosque being leveled in Iraq. And while the masters of deception are busy painting the entire planet blood red, last week at a University of Colorado campus march, listen to the hatred brewing around the immigration issue from the opening three paragraphs of a Washington Times propaganda follow-up: La reconquista, a radical movement calling for Mexico to "reconquer" America's Southwest, has stepped out of the shadows at recent immigration-reform protests nationwide as marchers held signs saying, "Uncle Sam Stole Our Land!" and waved Mexico's flag. Even as organizers urged marchers to display U.S . flags, the theme of reclaiming "stolen" land remained strong. One popular banner read: "If you think I'm illegal because I'm a Mexican, learn the true history because I'm in my homeland." "We need to change direction," said Jose Lugo, an instructor in Ethnic Studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder at a campus march last week. "And by allowing these 50,000, 50 million [immigrants] to come in here, we can do that." Stories like this are typical of the times. It's happening all over the world: One religion, ethnic group or country inciting another through hatred and killing, leading eventually to a massive world wide conflict. The trouble is the majority of placated Americans are buying the puppet show hook, line and sinker. The trouble is the masters of deception have convinced most everyone to fight the wrong enemy, forgetting about the real enemy within.
