While the Democrats and liberals were too busy moaning about political correctness, this nation has moved on without them.
Those Republicans who did not stand by Trump in recent months before the election or through his first few weeks as president are about to receive some brutal news. Rush Limbaugh has now stated that if the Democrats and Republican traitors go against President Trumps Supreme Court nominee, Neil Gorsuch, they will be left in the dust. According to Rush, the fantasy they have of the president working with them will come to an end of they decide to filibuster Gorsuch, via Breitbart.
This comes not long after the healthcare bill put forward by Paul Ryan was shot down by Democrats and Republicans alike. There is a group of politicians who are entrenched in the swamp and are actively trying to take our president down by any means possible.
There is no way the Democrats are humble enough to try and work alongside Trump, so it is going to be an interesting time.
Ever since he got into office, President Trump has extended offerings of peace over to the left, but they have rebutted him each time. Now, it is time to show them he is no longer Mr. Nice Guy, and he will NOT tolerate their lack of cooperation.
If he is to make America great again, he needs ALL parties to buy into a single vision that vision being his and the one belonging to We the People.
Our country is currently at a crossroads as illegal immigration is rife and our populace massively divided.
The liberals need to accept that they lost the election badly and that the majority of people want President Trump to rebuild our nation once again. Its why we voted for him in the first place!
Neil Gorsuch is an amazing choice for this Supreme Court position, and it would be a tragedy to see him denied just because the Democrats are sulking. He is young enough that he will be around for quite a while, and he is not out of the loop like other potential choices.
Gorsuch has a great track record of getting along with both sides and is really the best all-round pick for this country. Even key Democrats previously said they wouldnt mind if he was awarded this position.
The political landscape is changing, and the Democrat Party is becoming increasingly irrelevant, but they still have some power to be a thorn in the side of change. These bullheaded liberals are full of hatred, and they are not going to change without putting up a fight, but its a fight theyll live to regret so long as President Trump has something to say about it.
Poster Comment:
Liberals are dumbasses beyond belief.
America needs to get their crazy lunacy out of the country. Democrats are trash and have the same intellectual capacity as cockroaches.
What a history of disservice to this nation: Obama the Muslim plant, Hillary the halfwit, Maxine the ugliest and most stupid of the congressrats, Chuckie the JINO (Jew in name only) and all the rest of the democrat lying politicians should be in jail as they're all traitors!

Do these sentences even make sense?
No Republicans are against Gorsuch. Only two Dems will be for him and Trump didn't even have to do anything to get those votes.
The Republican ranks are larded with traitorous RINOs the two top ones being McCain and Graham. The Republicans need to experience an epiphany and change their attitudes to true Conservatives of the right wing bent.
Liberals are a lot like Slinkys, they're good for nothing but they bring a smile to your face as you shove them down the stairs.

But they aren't going to stab Gorsuch in the back. As former members of the Gang of 14 (along with Maine's Collins), that is significant. If they have to dump the filibuster rule for USSC nominees, it will likely be those two who will get Collins and Murkowski to go along with it. And Hatch is already on board with it.
I probably wouldn't have taken exception but for the fact that this was a "staff" piece. So it surprised me that it took this bent.
To me, Rush seemed mostly incredulous that the Trump WH actually thought that Dems were going to cooperate with them on anything.
Can you also say that no Republicans are against the nuclear option?
I can say that no Republicans have announced they will vote with Dems (or vote present) if McConnell goes nuclear.
As I noted above, Stain/Grahmnesty/Hatch are on-board for the rule change. That leaves only Collins/Murkowski as possible holdouts. For that matter, I think that Pence can break a tie even on a rule change vote so even if Collins/Murkowski vote with the Dems against the nuclear option for USSC, I think Pence could break that tie.
True. Can you also say that no Republicans are against the nuclear option?
I thought I should mention that McConnell might be more devious that we think.
He could force the Dems to actually mount 24-hour-a-day filibusters, the old-fashioned kind. Now, he would have to declare the Senate open continuously so that a month or two could be all considered legally as one legislative day. But can you imagine those doddering fossils on the Dem side in the Senate being forced to keep it up, 24/7 day after day? I'd give them a week. Maybe.
And of course, Trump would be taking shots at them on Twitter the whole time.
Gorsuch is so even-handed that I wonder if we'll end up with another Roberts. I recall a lot of enthusiasm for him too. Gorsuch does write well like Scalia and he is most notable for opposing Chevron deference (Scalia's one great mistake) but I'm not sure Gorsuch is actually gutsy enough to fill Scalia's shoes. The problem is that his record on the Colorado court is largely one of unanimity and he loves that. Well, on the USSC, he ain't gonna get that. So which way will he jump? Too often, that kind of choice doesn't end well for conservatives.
Still, he is the right pick. And he seems so reasonable and moderate that it gives the GOP a perfect excuse to go nuclear. Then they can bank that, hoping that one of the lib justices retires or croaks in the next few years.

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't you say Gorsuch was probably better than Scalia a few weeks ago. Not those exact words but that's basically what I thought you said.
I said Gorsuch was better than Scalia on Chevron deference and largely matched him otherwise.
But the Denver court is not like the DC court of appeals or the Ninth Circus.
Gorsuch does look good and has some good writing that is encouraging. But I would say he is more unknown like Roberts than he is like Thomas or Alito, both of whom are steady conservative originalist votes. Roberts has failed us twice, Kennedy many times more than that.

ONLY because nobody named Bush is in Congress or the Senate.

Why is democracy held in such high esteem when it’s the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority? (Ron Paul,2012)
American Indians had open borders. Look at how well that worked out for them.
Get out there and read the phone book like you're supposed to.
How many hours could Leahy and Feinstein last?
There aren't very many young Dems. The whole Senate looks like a retirement village but the GOPs have some advantage in youth compared to Dems, despite having Stain/Hatch/Grassley on the GOP side.
It isn't that easy to just stand there trying to speak, hour after hour. Not even for the professional windbags of the Senate.
I'd love to see McConnell torment them with at least a week of actual filibustering. I know when they were running their overnight mini-filibusters on Trump's cabinet nominees, they looked dead tired the next day. So I'd like to see McConnell force them to the podium 24/7 for a week (or two) and then, when they can hardly stand or keep their eyes open, casually announce that he would be holding a rule change vote to eliminate the filibuster after all.
Not a single Democrat senator opposed Neil Gorsuchs confirmation in 2006 to the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the 10th Circuit.
Regular federal judges get perfunctory votes. Even a court of appeals judge doesn't get all that much scrutiny. Where they really get nosy is the D.C. court of appeals and the supreme court. It was, after all, the desire of Reid and 0bama to pack the DC court of appeals with 0bama appointees that led to Reid nuking the filibuster for appointments other than USSC in 2014.
And 0bama did pack that court.
But now Trump gets an immediate pick for the Court. And the chance to fill over 100 federal judge positions that were in backlog and 0bama hadn't even bothered to offer a nomination for. Trump will, by the end of the year, appointed at least 10% of the federal judges. And, due to the Boomer retirements, he'll get another 10% or so in each of the next two years. (We know this because the judges generally signal they'll retire in a few years by seeking emeritus status and we know actuarially that some will just die unexpectedly like any other group in that age range.)
By 2020, it isn't hard to imagine Trump appointing 2-3 supreme court justices and a third of the federal judges. That's a lot.
The average American will look at Gorsuch's unanimous vote to the appellate court and wonder why the Democrats now have a sudden change of heart.
Other than than than pure politics and a hatred of Trump -- neither of which is a good reason to vote him down. Meaning, the public will be supportive of the nuclear option, and the Democrats must realize that.

The public barely knows what a supreme court is.
Among the partisan hacks, all the Dems will oppose, no matter what. And the GOP will support, possibly unanimously as well.
Half the public doesn't know the name of the VP at any given time, can't tell you the name of a single justice, can't tell you the names of their own congressman or senators.
Let's not give the public too much credit. They're finishing up with their March Madness before moving into springtime mode. and other more important matters.
