Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel has moved forward with plans for a Chicago-only identification card specifically designed to ensure illegal aliens in the city can receive welfare benefits with minimal risk of repatriation. The new program was unveiled at a Chicago City Council meeting on Wednesday, and it protects illegal aliens from federal oversight by not collecting any copies of identification documents presented when illegals apply for the identification card. “Applicants bring in the documents to prove someone’s identity. They hand them over to specially trained individual who can review the documents and then hand them back … It’s going to capture just the name and the date of birth. Emanuel, once President Barack Obama’s Chief of Staff, has been one of the loudest voices decrying Attorney General Jeff Sessions’s efforts to cut off federal funding for sanctuary cities like Chicago that refuse to cooperate in the enforcement of immigration laws. The “Municipal ID” plan is Emanuel’s latest bid to resist the effort of the Justice Department and remain what he has called a “welcoming city.” Emanuel’s new City Clerk Anna Valencia’s website describes the Municipal ID as “an optional, valid, government-issued ID that they can then use to access a range of services from both the private and public sectors. ” In addition to ensuring access for illegals to government programs, the Clerk’s Office also claims to be “working with cultural institutions, sports teams, pharmacies, local chambers of commerce and community organizations to explore potential discounts and partnerships.” The scheme is specifically designed not only to allow illegals to obtain the cards, but to avoid collecting data that could be used by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to discover aliens in the country illegally. Chicago is apparently looking to a model pioneered in San Francisco to frustrate ICE efforts. “Applicants bring in the documents to prove someone’s identity. While city officials will make no effort to ascertain if recipients of the new ID are committing a crime by being in the United States, they will ensure that the gender with which they most strongly identify will be properly documented. “Applicants will also be able to self-designate their gender, which will be huge to the transgender and LGBTQ community. And it’s not just for undocumented individuals,” the same source said. The Sun-Times also reported that the Municipal ID program itself will cost Chicago taxpayers $1 million in its first year of implementation.

If I were any more cynical I would swear that the two parties are working on a national id system using illegal alien issue. But thats just me. Federal government needs to remove every penny from the shitcago and starve it to death. Really why would the good people waste money on clean drinking water when most of the people are going to be murdered by 30 anyway. The ones that somehow survive are infecting the rest of the world around and should be quarantine! Build a wall to keep them in so their nasty perverted ways stay there! To bad we could not talk Russia into nuking a couple of cities in the US to save the world from demoncraps!!! Maybe the US air force could accidentally lose a nuke from a plane and it land dead center of shitcago!
That's just the cost of implementing the program. What's the cost of all the free bennies to illegals? Not like Chicago is rolling in money or anything. "Moody’s rates Chicago Ba1 (junk bond). Fitch rates it BBB-, one step above junk, while S&P’s rating is the highest at BBB+, three levels above junk." It already costs Chicago taxpayers tens of millions of dollars in additional interest paid on city bonds because of their low rating. Yet they're instituting a new giveaway program? Insanity.
And this is perfectly acceptable to liberals. But requiring the exact same thing in order to obtain voter ID? Whoa! Katy bar the door! They can't do that! Why, the expenses for documentation, travel, and waiting time are too much. Requiring documents for an ID? This is merely a “not-too-thinly-veiled" attempt to discourage people from voting!
It's a nice trick. If he can pull it off we'll do it nationally pulling money from the Social Security system and medicare to pay for it. The Sun-Times also reported that the Municipal ID program itself will cost Chicago taxpayers $1 million in its first year of implementation. Thats $1 million to print the IDs and to pay bureocrats to distribute them. When recipients start using them, the sky's the limit. Before this is over, every deadbeat and incompetent in the world is going to immigrate with their hand out for freebies.
Just because Rahm wants to start making fake IDs doesn't mean Trump's cabinet members have to recognize those as valid ID. This only works if TrumpCo is willing to go along with it.
