Norway officials have given the green light to fully finance an ambitious project to build the world's first full-size tunnel for ships. Poster Comment:Norway's construction of the world’s first ship tunnel could begin in 2018. Stad Ship Tunnel will measure 1.7km in length, 37 metres in height and 26.5 metres in height and 26.5 metres in width.

How the HELL is that going to work in anything less than perfect weather? Imagine being on a ship in that tunnel,and having a storm-driven tide forcing water up in that tunnel behind you.
That Tunnel excludes all the large cruise ships so you have to wonder who it is actually being built for, a trawler? a destroyer?

Beats the hell out of me. Since anything that floats is in more danger inside it than they would ever be on the open water,I can't even come up with a wild guess.
