the Republican Senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul, has tweeted out that he is currently being blocked by armed guards from viewing new, and the secretly kept Obamacare bill. It was hours earlier that Paul tweeted that he heard that the Obamacare bill, being touted as Obamacare-lite by critics, is ” under lock & key, in a secure location, & not available for me or the public to view.” I have been told that the House Obamacare bill is under lock & key, in a secure location, & not available for me or the public to view. — Senator Rand Paul (@RandPaul) March 2, 2017 The liberty minded Senator did not take kindly to this information and made his intention to share the bill with the public clear in another tweet. She wouldn’t tell us anything really,” Paul said in an interview afterward. “Even if I were allowed to look at it, which it didn’t look like I was, how is that democracy?” Republican aides said they believed the room on the first floor of the Capitol is being used for Energy and Commerce members to read the bill. Rep. Paul Tonko (D-N.Y.), a committee member, said he was also not able to read the bill and was told it was not available, explains Politico. “It’s literally illegal in my state to do that,” Paul said in the interview. “You can understand for national security why we do it. But for goodness sakes for a healthcare bill? It’s crazy.” The battle for transparency is likely a case that will leave those who want honest repeal of Obamacare completed, either an entire replacement of the legislation or a complete scrapping of it, not a watered down Obamacare-lite version which would keep key provisions of the old bill. Ya had me going with you right up to that point. It was a freaking DRAFT,NOT an actual bill,and he had no more right to see it and blab to the public about the debate over it in committee than you or I have. This was nothing more than Paul grandstanding. I am rapidly losing respect for this phoney.

I don't know why people think he's so honest. He's only somewhat better than Boehner. We need to keep an eye on all of them. And Trump too. His daughter is teeing up Dem-flavored family leave. Trump sounds like he's ready to ram Ryan's plan through whether he understands it or not, and they are definitely trying to gauge whether we'll tolerate some big Shamnesty. Caveat emptor! Just because voters didn't want Hitlery doesn't mean they sold their souls for any bunch of Big Gooberment plans hatched by Ryan. Or McCain/Graham/Rubio. Or Trump. They all bear watching.
Therefore, can you tell me unambiguously what Ryan is dishonest about in a draft bill that no one has seen, and has no requirement to see…a draft bill that is still in being worked on in committee and continually coordinated for changes with Senate counterparts and the WH? I haven’t seen no evidence that Ryan is dishonest in any way about this draft bill. If there is such evidence….I really would like to see it. I am not seeking confrontation….I am seeking information.

Back in 2009, we heard no end of bitter complaints that the Dems had locked Republicans out of the room where they were writing their bill and Pelosi daftly talking about passing it to see what's in it. Seems to me that Ryan's crew is following the same exact path.

That is really stretching it, TC….calling the withholding the contents of a bill that is work in progress until it is finalized being “dishonest.”. The complete quote is here: It has been said: “Pelosi was conveying that she was anxious for people to find out what was actually in the bill away from the controversies and lies….see no death panels!” And she definitely was not telling Republicans: “YOU must pass the bill to see what’s in it.” As it has often been misconstrued. Nah! Again, that’s way too far a stretch …
