the Republican Senator from Kentucky, Rand Paul, has tweeted out that he is currently being blocked by armed guards from viewing new, and the secretly kept Obamacare bill. It was hours earlier that Paul tweeted that he heard that the Obamacare bill, being touted as Obamacare-lite by critics, is ” under lock & key, in a secure location, & not available for me or the public to view.” I have been told that the House Obamacare bill is under lock & key, in a secure location, & not available for me or the public to view. — Senator Rand Paul (@RandPaul) March 2, 2017 The liberty minded Senator did not take kindly to this information and made his intention to share the bill with the public clear in another tweet. I am heading to the secure location where they are keeping the House obamacare bill. She wouldn’t tell us anything really,” Paul said in an interview afterward. “Even if I were allowed to look at it, which it didn’t look like I was, how is that democracy?” Republican aides said they believed the room on the first floor of the Capitol is being used for Energy and Commerce members to read the bill. Rep. Paul Tonko (D-N.Y.), a committee member, said he was also not able to read the bill and was told it was not available, explains Politico. “It’s literally illegal in my state to do that,” Paul said in the interview. “You can understand for national security why we do it. But for goodness sakes for a healthcare bill? It’s crazy.” The battle for transparency is likely a case that will leave those who want honest repeal of Obamacare completed, either an entire replacement of the legislation or a complete scrapping of it, not a watered down Obamacare-lite version which would keep key provisions of the old bill. I recall when it was a scandal for the Dems to lock away their healthcare bill in the Senate and refuse to let anyone see it, even GOP senators.
Paul Ryan was on Hannity this week. He claimed he supported "Dr. Paul's bill. He also said he didn't support some bill whose details leaked.
Speaker Ryan spoke with Senate Republicans Tuesday to assure everyone that an Obamacare repeal is under way. Paul stormed out of the meeting [I’ll take my ball and go home if you don’t play my way], frustrated [like a little spoiled kid pouting] …
Right. Hurry up a release a healthcare bill and expect the result to be different than when they hurried up and released the refugee bill.
The GOP has been campaigning and working on this for 6 years or so. Was it all BS, or do they really have an alternate plan? They passed repeal of ObamaCare last year, so why can't the do it again when they have a president that will sign it?

Last year and the previous 5 years as well. As Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and the House conservative caucus all say, "Let's pass the same bill we sent to 0bama in 2015." They're right. They didn't run on repeal-and-replace all those years. Neither did Trump. They all ran on "repeal" alone. Now they want to toss in "replace". Well, if so, they still need to keep their promise and fully repeal 0dingaCare now. Do it first. It won't expire this year anyway so no one will lose their health care.

No one’s afraid of defying Ryan but everyone’s afraid of defying Trump, which is why Ryan is emphasizing that he and the White House are “in sync.” Not just rhetorically, either: Mike Pence is in Wisconsin today to show White House solidarity with Ryan at an event to promote the coming health-care reform and Trump’s HHS chief Tom Price has been meeting with conservative dissenters like Rand Paul and Mark Meadows to try to sell them on the new plan. Sneaky GOPe bastards.
None of the Democrats are voting for Trump's cabinet nominees. Does that mean they all believe his nominees are unfit, or is it simply a protest vote? There's your answer.

They're going to try to get Trump to steamroll House conservatives. I'm not sure what they can in the Senate if Paul/Lee/Cruz vote no. They'd still need at least one Dem to pass it. See now why Rand Paul was trying yesterday to slow this process down, even if it required a silly stunt to do so? A year ago, fiscal conservatives in Congress would have had no difficulty stoking suspicions among the base that Ryan’s plan to fix ObamaCare involved a whole new entitlement program in the guise of “reform.” A year later, with Trump seemingly behind the Ryan plan, all of that grassroots leverage is gone. To mobilize any significant chunk of the right against a Trump/Ryan proposal, Paul and his allies need time. At a closed-door meeting with Republicans on Thursday, Speaker Paul Ryan said he plans for the House to hold a vote on the leadership’s Obamacare alternative in three weeks, sources in the room told POLITICO.
