Title: Steve Bannon registered to vote in two states despite Trump's cries of 'voter fraud'

President’s senior adviser is registered in both New York and Florida, as president falsely claims in tweet that such an arrangement amounts to fraud

A senior White House adviser to Donald Trump is registered to vote in two different states, a practice that the US president wrongly claimed amounted to electoral fraud on Wednesday as he called for an inquiry.

Stephen Bannon registered to vote in New York shortly before the presidential election last year, after the Guardian disclosed that he was registered to vote at a vacant house in Florida where his ex-wife had once lived.

Bannon, registered to vote at a rented apartment in New York, cast his ballot for Trump in that state, according to a source familiar with his arrangements, who was not authorized to speak to the media.

Bannon, however, also remains registered to vote in Florida, according to state records. His registration lists as his address the home of Andy Badolato, a friend of Bannon’s who has worked on some of his political documentary films and written for Breitbart News, the far-right website that Bannon controlled before entering the White House as chief strategist and senior counselor to the president.

His registration in Florida was moved to Badolato’s home shortly after the publication of the Guardian report in August. Bannon has not cast a ballot in Florida, according to state records. Badolato, who was also registered to vote at the home with his adult sons, declined at the time to answer questions on whether Bannon actually lived at the property, which is required under the registration rules of the Florida division of elections.

Trump’s statement followed the White House confirming on Tuesday that the president continues to believe the debunked conspiracy theory that millions of people vote illegally in US elections. Trump has repeatedly blamed this fiction for his loss of the national popular vote to Hillary Clinton, his Democratic opponent.

It is not in itself illegal to be registered to vote in two states. It would be illegal to cast ballots in two different states. Many states have their own laws about who qualifies to register to vote in their elections, typically based on whether a person actually lives in a residence there.

A spokeswoman for Bannon did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Willie,

Do you know what's great? Guys on the Right are ignoring and laughing at the raging nuts on the Left just as much as the Left enjoyed ignoring and laughing at the raging nuts on the Right for the past 8 years.

The relentless attacks on Trump so early are not doing anything but cratering the Left's credibility.

It's like the over-the-top Birthers or Clinton-haters. Obama may very well have been born in Kenya, and Clinton was a dirty dog, but once the partisan hacks started baying incessantly about it and sounding unhinged the populations generally closed ranks against them and protected the targets. Nobody cared anymore if Obama was illegitimate or Clinton was a perv, because they hated the haters more than they cared about the issue.

The Left is going to make Trump untouchable because their charges against him are so impetuous, constant and crazy.

No.. I don't think so...

Trump is an uncontollable dumpster fire... and a useful idiot...

The right-wing neocons & libertarians will play along and let him do their dirty-work....
but then they'll oust him just like Nixon and then let Pence take over.

Steve Bannon registered to vote in two states.
SO?

Different states have different rules but generally you are not required to proactively cancel your old registration when you move to a new state.

It is not illegal to be registered in two states at once, because people move and things happen.
It is very illegal, however, to vote in more than one state in a single election.
Please show where Bannon violated any law by showing that Florida is a state where you are required to proactively cancel you old registration when you move to a new state….or that Bannon vote in both states.

That won't happen. Nixon was a weak guy individually, as all politicians are. His livelihood DEPENDED on his political power.

Trump has billions. He can afford centuries of complex, obnoxious litigation, and has no need to compromise (such as by resigning to avoid a fight, like Nixon did). There's no reason for Trump not to fight, and keep fighting like hell, about everything.

When you are a billionaire, you have the ability to paralyze everything with legal process, and the people attacking you don't have the resources to keep at you as long as you have the resources to defend. That's really the bottom line.

Let him fight it all he wants...

He's not rich enough to paralyze the Impeachment process...
Not if Paul Ryan & Mitch McConnell decide to put it on the fast track..
Trump will get the sh*t end of that stick...
He'll be a LOSER whether he likes it or not.

From the mouths of morons who predicted he'd never get elected.

BTW, Gatlin's right i'm moved to cal after living in nevada. Neither state requires you to cancel your former voter registration.

So true.

All they have left now is, wishful thinking about an impeachment ...

He doesn't have to fight it. Nobody will be impeaching Trump. They will not dare to move in that direction.

Trump has been in office for six days, and he has been incredibly active during that time, changing all sorts of policies left, right and center. We have not seen a President hit the deck running and change so much, so fast, in our lifetimes. You'd have to go back to FDR to find something comparable.

Meanwhile, the media are focused on nonsense like inuaguration attendance, and the Left is in full Trump Derangement Syndrome meltdown. No effective opposition is being mounted to Trump, or will be.

He's going to impose his will, which is my will, and the country will be better off for it, and know it. He'll be re-elected in a landslide.

Its not your will, its OUR will, the people that elected him..

And as usual, willy dreams on of impeachment. For what?

It wouldn't surprise me a bit if Trump decided on only one term. -- At the rate he operates, he might accomplish his agenda, and get bored.
