Sandra Jametski’s rant about “Spanish privilege” landed her in hot water with authorities
A Washington woman was charged with a felony hate crime after she allegedly followed a Hispanic woman in her car and harassed her about “Spanish privilege” before threatening to hit the victim’s vehicle, prosecutors say.
“You get a super good look everybody, this is what calls to be Spanish privileged in America,” Sandra Jametski of White Center reportedly is heard saying during the Facebook Live broadcast.
According to KIRO7, Jametski, who also goes by Sandra Diann Huddleson, trailed the neighbor as she drove her child to school because her son allegedly hit her car and lied to police about it.
The 48-year-old is also accused of telling the woman “this is America. We don’t drive like that here. We don’t drive like you’re in Mexico, lady”— the main reason why she is facing malicious harassment charges for the Nov. 21 tirade, The Seattle Times reports.
Though Jametski blamed the woman’s son for causing the accident, police reports show that Jametski was found at fault.
In addition to comments about deportation, Jametski is accused of hurling several other racist remarks, including:
“This is my freakin’ neighborhood. This is where I grew up. I grew up here, not them. This woman don’t deserve to belong here, she don’t belong here. She don’t f*** belong here.”
Police became involved after Jametski left the school parking lot and were introduced to the video. Jametski was arrested on December 3 and since has been held on $500,000 bail. Senior Deputy Prosecutor Mike Hogan explained the bail was so high due to prior convictions for second-degree assault and driving under the influence.
I saw the report, what a crock of shit that is sure. In my mind, and under the Bill of Rights, and the US Constitution, there CANNOT be such a thing as a Hate Crime. That is what she is being charged with, a hate crime for her anti-Latina rhetoric.
If we allow the continuing erosion of our right to free speech, we deserve to be the slaves we all are becoming.
