Alibaba executive chairman Jack Ma is meeting with U.S. president-elect Donald Trump on Monday to discuss plans to create one million new U.S. jobs over the next five years.

The Monday meeting will focus on the Chinese e-commerce company's U.S. expansion plans, according to spokespeople for both Alibaba and Trump.

The meeting comes amid tensions between China and the incoming Trump administration. Trump has proposed steep tariffs on trade with China, and has incited political controversy over the U.S. relationship with Taiwan.

But Trump has also been critical of Alibaba rival Amazon, who like Alibaba, offers cloud services and a marketplace for third-party sellers.

This story is developing. Please check back for further updates.

But Trump has also been critical of Alibaba rival Amazon,

So Alibaba is really no different than Amazon... or eBay or Etsy or Wayfair or a couple hundred-dozen other ecommerce websites that've sprung up to put physical shopping malls out of existance...

I don't see how this creates a million new jobs... Maybe in China, but not in America... sounds like just another con-job by Donny-babba & the 40 thieves...

To be honest, I don't either.

As of March 2016, the Chinese e-commerce corporation had 36,450 full-time employees, up from 34,985 in the previous year. The majority of employees are based in China.

You don’t see it because you have no creative vision for success, to realize that it is easy to reach far beyond your simple life material existence and get out of your morbid comfort zone.

You should read: Alibaba: The House That Jack Ma Built.

I excerpted the following from Wikipedia to give you basic information about Jack Ma.

It as in 1994 that Jack Ma heard about the Internet. In early 1995, he went to the US and with his friends' help he got introduced to the Internet. During his first encounter he searched the word "beer". Although he found information related to beer from many countries, he was surprised to find none from China. Further, he tried to search for general information about China and again was surprised to find none. So he and his friend created an "ugly" website related to China.[9] Within five hours of creating the website he had received emails from some Chinese wishing to know about him. This is when Ma realized that the Internet had something great to offer. In April 1995, Mr. Ma, his wife and a friend went around, asked for USD 20,000, and started their first company. Their company was dedicated to creating websites for companies. He named their company "China Yellow Pages." Within three years, his company had made 5,000,000 Chinese Yuan which was equivalent to USD 800,000.
I can easily see that Jack Ma’s strategy is not a new one. Amazon connects small businesses with customers in America….Ma’s strategy is to now to increase the connection of American small businesses with Chinese consumers. And Jack Ma has the organization and financial resources to do that because he is the richest person in China, which makes him a big power in the business world, a political force whom China’s leaders must reckon with and a person business people listen to.

A website Chinese customers to shop in America via Alibaba….how unique, NOT.

During one year, Ma sold 150 tons of cherries from Washington state to Chinese customers. He sells Alaskan seafood and he sold 80 tons of nuts to China. There are many farm products that can be sold to China by Americans because of the pollution the people there cannot have good quality products. He has announced he will concentrate his expansion in Midwest America to find new suppliers and increase the capacity of old ones.
When you stop to think that Alibaba has 110 to 120 million Chinese people shopping on your site every day, you can almost sell everything from America to Chinese customers.

If Jack Ma says he can provide a platform for new American businesses to be established and old American business to put 1 million new people to work selling their USA made goods in China….I would believe Jack Ma, if I were you.

I surely do.

Jack Ma said he is about small business, so he is thinking outside the box, because americans only think in terms of big business
