The WikiLeaks founder said in an interview with Sean Hannity that will air Tuesday night, Theyre trying to delegitimize the Trump administration as it goes into the White House. They are trying to say that President-elect Trump is not a legitimate president, Assange said from his exile in the Ecuadorian embassy in London. Our publications had wide uptake by the American people, theyre all true. But thats not the allegation thats being presented by the Obama White House. When questioned if the Russians had been the ones who supplied the Clinton and Podesta documents to his organization, Assange replied, Our source is not a state party, so the answer for our interactions is no. According to The Hill, Assange previously told Hannity that the documents his information sharing group received looked very much like theyre from the Russians but assured him his source was not them. Assange was asked whether he believed WikiLeaks influenced the 2016 election outcome by exposing embarrassing, albeit genuine and pristine documentation of private comments and communications between members of the Democrat National Committee (DNC) and Hillary Clintons campaign as well as between various campaign members, advisers and contractors. He replied, Did [WikiLeaks] change the outcome of the election? Who knows, its impossible to tell. But if it did, the accusation is that the true statements of Hillary Clinton and her campaign manager, John Podesta, and the DNC head Debbie Wasserman Schultz, their true statements is what changed the election. The content of the documents revealed not only bias in favor of Clinton and a lack of objectivity on the part of the DNC and actions to favor her over her fellow competitors but negative comments about others with whom the campaign dealt, showing a friendly face while holding out a long knife for their backs. Through all of the rancor of the campaign and the releases, no one ever successfully challenged the veracity or the authenticity of the documents, only the method by which the information was shared and the side issue of the source.
