Title: Conservative Christians pan 'prosperity gospel' Trump inaugural preacher

Prominent conservative Christians are up in arms about President-elect Trump's choice of a controversial televangelist to deliver one of the prayers at his inauguration on Jan. 20.

Florida's Paula White, age 50, will join Franklin Graham, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Rabbi Marvin Hier of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and other religious leaders in participating in the Trump inaugural festivities. Unlike the others, White is a proponent of the "prosperity gospel" — the belief that God blesses the faithful with health and wealth — who has come under attack for her theology, marital history and finances.

"Paula White is a trinity denying heretic," wrote conservative Christian commentator Erick Erickson. "She rejects the Council of Nicaea's creed that every Christian accepts. To reject the orthodoxy of the Nicene Creed is to reject Christianity itself."

"Paula White is a charlatan and recognized as a heretic by every orthodox Christian, of whatever tribe," echoed Russell Moore of the Southern Baptist Convention's Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission.

"Paula White has a long history of bankruptcies, failed business ventures, and unsuccessful marriages, which makes her the perfect choice to deliver a prayer on behalf a president-elect who has proudly proclaimed that he's never felt the need to ask forgiveness from God for anything," complained Paula Bolyard in a post titled "Twice Divorced Paula White Praying at Trump Inaugural Exactly What We Expected."

White delivered the benediction on the first day of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland in July, where Trump was nominated for president.

The loudest voices against White are anti-Trump evangelicals who have been warning their coreligionists against the president-elect since the campaign. But many Christians regard the prosperity gospel as incompatible with Scripture and view pastors who promote it as likely to take financial advantage of their flocks.

White has drawn attention for her own lavish lifestyle, as the owner of expensive homes (including an apartment at Trump Towers) and cars. The Tampa Tribune reported that her broadcast business earned between $50,000 to $80,000 a week while a decade ago she and her then-husband were taking compensating ranging from $600,000 to $1.5 million a year.

Erickson argues that her theological problems go beyond the prosperity gospel to rejecting core Christian doctrines agreed upon across denominations, as evidenced by comments she made to worshippers that were captured on video.

"The President of the United States putting a heretic on stage who claims to believe in Jesus, but does not really believe in Jesus, risks leading others astray," he wrote. "Christians have an obligation to speak in defense of their faith. Trump letting this heretic pray in Jesus's name should offend every Bible believing Christian."

"I'd rather a Hindu pray on Inauguration Day and not risk the souls of men, than one whose heresy lures in souls with promises of comfort only to damn them in eternity," Erickson concluded. "At least no one would mistake a Hindu, a Buddhist, or an atheist with being a representative of Christ's kingdom."

In the "What We Believe" section of the website for White's ministry, she explicitly affirms a belief in the trinity.

While much of the organized Christian right supported Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio in the Republican primaries, Trump made peace with these organizations by promising to appoint conservative judges and generally hew to a socially conservative agenda.

Trump won 80 percent of white born-again or evangelical Christians, according to the exit polls. That was better than not only Mitt Romney, a Mormon, in 2012, but also evangelical George W. Bush in 2004.

But the president-elect had natural appeal to prosperity gospel preachers, as his own self-help advice is a more secularized version of that message. Trump's parents attended a church pastored by Norman Vincent Peale, the Methodist turned Reformed author of "The Power of Positive Thinking."

Peale's teachings were a precursor of sorts to the prosperity gospel. The preacher, who died in 1993, performed Trump's wedding to his first wife Ivana. Peale's successor presided over Trump's wedding to his second wife Marla Maples.

The prosperity gospel is also an opening to broaden Trump's appeal across racial lines, as the tradition has made inroads in the black church. White herself has led a megachurch with a predominantly black congregation.

White chairs Trump's evangelical advisory board. She has organized meetings between Trump and other pastors. White is one of six clergy scheduled to pray, speak or read at Trump's inaugural, including some who have disagreed with the president-elect on immigration.

White's second husband was the evangelist Randy White, with whom she partnered in ministry. Her current husband is Jonathan Cain, a member of the rock band Journey.

Replace the name "Jesus" with "Mohammed" and you have the exact philosophy as the muslims do.

You are pretty much correct about that. The main difference is, the Good News is, Christians win the battle for the earth, and the Muslims lose and spend eternity in hell.

Revelation says "overcome" not "conqueer".

So you did change.

You also make false prophesies. Like Montenegro joining NATO in 2016 and the Serbs retaking land.

You're full of it.

As I have already said at least 3 times, the original Greek says "conquer" and the KJV translators changed it to "overcome." And their name will be taken out of the Book of Life the Revelation says.

As for predicting Montenegro would join NATO in 2016, I always qualify my predictions by saying I am sometimes a year or two ahead of God's timetable. In this case I was just 3 weeks or so ahead of when it will happen. That is, it is now on the US Senate agenda, and will be voted on within 2 or 3 weeks probably, depending on how fast the new congress moves through the bills ahead of it. But regardless of when, it will happen because the Revelation says it will. And the Revelation (and myself) has never been wrong yet. And at some point Montenegro together with the other Serbian nations will retake all of their ancient homeland because the Revelation says they will. It will start with the Serbs retaking northern Kosovo as NATO and the EU have already OK'd, and are now urging Kosovo to peacefully hand over to the Serbs. But Kosovo keeps putting off the vote on it, so I have also missed my original prediction on that issue by probably the same amount of time (about 3 weeks or so). But you can take it to the bank that it will happen. And if Kosovo were to vote not to hand over northern Kosovo peacefully, Serbia is making plans to take it by force (but only after Trump, who loves the Serbs, becomes the US President on Jan. 20th) so either way it definitely will happen.

We have tried to convert the Muslims for about 1400 years now but to no avail, and now they are now killing us all over the earth. It is high time we changed our tactics. The only solution is to kill them off, or at least the militant ones, like Jesus commands us to do in Luke 19:27.

I have been totally accurate for 25 years, because I always say my predictions will happen that year or within the next year or two. And I have never ever missed that time frame. And yet while you accuse me of me of being a false prophet, no futurist has ever got anything right yet (within 1 or 2 years or a hundred years). So why is it you do not accuse them of being false prophets?

There are no flaws in the King James Bible.

Show me 3 if you dare.

LOL. There are dozens.

Here are several in just chapter 1 of the Revelation:

In verses 12,13, and 20 the KJV says"candlesticks" whereas the original Greek says "lampstands." "Candlesticks" makes no sense because then there would be nothing (no stand) for the lamps of fire in heaven to sit on when they come down to the earth to give light to the 7 parts of the earth (see ch. 4). Also in verse 20, the KJV says: The seven candlesticks which thou sawest are "the seven churches." Whereas the original Greek says: The seven lampstands which thou sawest are "seven Churches" (without the "the in front). The "the" completely changes the meaning and causes the reader to think the 7 golden lampstands are the seven Asian churches, whereas the previous verse plainly states that the vision is of "things that are" and "things which shall be hereafter" The golden lampstands are clearly the "things which shall be hereafter" and they are NOT the "things that are" because the 7 stars are the things that are. When the translator even adds a little word like "the" it invariably completely changes the meaning of the verse.

I will stop there for now (because I have other things to do), but if you want I can give you many more examples (tomorrow).

No you didn't - the Holy Spirit did.

This is the main problem I have with your posts and your un-Biblical predictions.

It's always "I, I, I and me, me, me". You give all the glory to yourself and none to God.

Like I stated earlier, I have a hard time believing that the Apostles, who were humble in spirit, would even consider rising to your level of braggadocio and self-aggrandizing.

Which is why I believe that your prophesies are false. You even alluded earlier to occultism in divining your "prophecies".

You summarized quite well..Now we have to buy his book...

As I have also told you at least 4 or 5 times, I have predicted all of the major events of the last 25 years, whereas not one futurist has ever predicted even one thing correctly. That proves who is the liar, and a false prophet and a clown beyond a shadow of a doubt.

Who is a witness to your 25 years of predictions?

You did predict Trump would win, but several bookies did too. Frankly you were sweating that one out as I recall.

Who is the witness of all your other predictions coming true?

Futurists who make concrete predictions in space and time cease to be futurist. I pointed this out. Harold Camping types were so convinced they cracked the Biblical "code" they sound like you.

Return to Acts 1 with a humble heart. The apostles were clothed with the Holy Spirit in power in Acts 2. They did not sharpen swords but stepped out boldly for the Gospel.

My translation of the Revelation does not change anything. It is a literal translation of the Greek word for word. To see what happens to the KJV translators, and the NIV and NAS translators, etc. see Revelation 22:18-19.

Which Greek manuscripts did you use to translate Revelation?

Correct, but with the possible exception of Young's literal translation. If you want to know what the Revelation is really saying, you have to read a literal translation of the original Greek. All other translations are faulty and interject the translator's theological view of things, like Christians are not supposed to conquer, and that's the direct opposite of what the Revelation is saying. The whole point of the Revelation is that we are supposed to conquer the earth.

The Received Text of course, which (according to the Greek Orthodox Church at least) is exactly as the way the first century authors of the New Testament wrote it. And I believe that.

Who is a witness to your 25 years of predictions?

The first two years (1992 and 93) I placed my predictions in the Sargent Beachcomber. When that newspaper went defunct, I placed my annual predictions in the Sargent News for a couple years (94 & 95). After that I published my annual predictions in my own publication, The Last Days Chronicle (in 96 & 97) After that I placed my annual predictions on beliefnet for several years where I became pretty famous for predicting 9/11, and for my prayer I posted on b'net after 9/11 occurred, and I made it into B'nets book about 9/11 called From the Ashes. Basically I prayed for the invasion of Afghanistan and for Osama Bin Laden to be found and killed, while very other B'net poster prayed for peace. And my prayer was of course answered while none of the other prayers were. If you guys want to look me up on Beliefnet or in their book, I am known on that site as theinterpreter. But on b'net if you say anything bad about Muslims or atheists, etc. and one of them complains to b'net that they were "offended" your post is automatically deleted. After they deleted one of my annual predictions one year (and I can't remember for sure what year that was) I started putting my annual predictions on christianforums.com But they also have a lot of atheists and Muslims on their site and lots of nit-picky rules and I was constantly reported and kicked off for a while for variuos reasons until I "repented" and promised to never do it again, and the final straw was when I was permanently kicked off for saying BS which they said was a cuss word. And I told them I have never said a cuss word in my life, but like everyone else I sometimes use a substitute term and BS was not a cuss word. And I told them that the next president of the United States frequently uses the "F-bomb" but I can't say BS? And I refused to "repent" for something I didn't do, and to make a long story short, I had to create my own website so I could say whatever I want without being censored. And that's also the reason I like Libertysflame, and why I like facebook (although FB does have a few rules you are supposed to follow), Anyhow, this year my annual predictions are on 3 websites and also in my book. I am now going nation- wide and world-wide with my message and I aim to convert the whole world to Christianity like I did the Brazoria County jail, Lord willing.

Actually, most of the 7 last plagues began occurring 25 years ago. So many of my predictions are pretty much what I have been saying for 25 years, not 10 years. But each year I say the plagues will wax worse so they are not exactly the same predictions, and I have added a lot of new stuff lately. The point is, all of my predictions always come true, and no other predictor of the future, not Jean Dixon, not Hal Lindsay or anyone else can say that. So it is all the others who are a fake, a deceiver and a clown, and no one can possibly say that about me with a straight face (unless they are a bald-face liar like you and the Red herring).

Like I have already said I have been "recycling" some the same predictions for 25 years now (and not 15 years) because many of the last plagues began occurring 25 years ago. But each year they wax worse, and that's what I have been predicting, so I change them a little bit each year. I am not going to make up new predictions every year just for the sake of changing something because then I would be making false predictions that are not in The Bible and have no chance of coming true. Then you could honestly say I am a false prophet. As Donald Trump says, "That's not going to happen!"

Some of the plagues, like global warming, will probably wax worse every year for 100 years, so I will be making the same prediction, that global warming will get worse, for a hundred years, not 25 (if I live long enough). 25 years is just a drop in the bucket.

Why do you keep saying that? She was the most holy, righteous person in Matagorda county and a well respected pastor. Christians like her and me who predict things have nothing to do with "occultism." (And the fact that all of our predictions have come true proves that, and it proves that there is a God). "As for predicting Montenegro would join NATO in 2016," You were wrong again. About the Serbs also. You said 2016. You are a liar.

In the latest news, the US Senate will vote on Montenegro joining NATO today, Jan 11. So I missed my original prediction by 11 days.

But actually I did not miss it because I always qualify my predictions by saying I am sometimes a year or two ahead of God's timetable. And when I do miss the year, it is usually by a few days or a few weeks or at the most by a few months, and never two years. I only put that is there to cover the very very remote possibility I am off by that much. It has never happened though and I pretty certain it never will happen.

I never read any prophets in the Bible that qualified their statements.

You are a legend in your own mind.

LOL. That's because they didn't provide any dates whatsoever. Their predictions sometimes came to pass within a year or two, and sometimes hundreds or thousands of years later. But nowadays, because of all the skeptical atheists (and skeptical futurists like you) I have to go farther than any prophet has ever gone before.
