Opinions/Editorials Title: It’s Over, Folks Tim Geithner is toying with the idea of a single global currency, and the words I told you so are beginning to ring rather hollow. The bottom line for me is that this crap is over. America created this stupid derivatives system, which is nothing more than a casino. There were millions, billions, and trillions of dollars floating around, and people were playing games with all that funny money, and the rest of us just sit around and marvel at it all and wonder how in the hell they did all that. The straw that broke the camels back is when the people finally woke up one-by-one and figured out how marvelously the corporate mainstream media was selling all this to you. Oh yeah, the weapons of mass destruction, aka transfer payments to the oil companies and to Halliburton, was one thing. But this is something else again. The government is literally throwing money at anybody they can get their hands on in return for a smile and handshake - oh, and dont forget to vote, too (for them, that is). Its all bullshit by now. I feel sorry for the immigrants to this country who heard so much about it when they lived abroad. They are having to learn the hard lessons about democracy when they should be exercising the rights and responsibilities of their citizenship. Instead they have to hear about what a bunch of creeps these politicians are, and frankly having been an immigrant myself at a time when this happened in the country where I was living it is demoralizing and I felt like somebody was pulling the carpet out from underneath me. This whole thing about how much money is floating around should immediately be put to rest. I agree with the conservatives who talk about limited government, but I never quite understood what they meant by it until now when government is not only unlimited but it is unarguably making itself rapidly into the only game in town. If Obama says dont ride on corporate jets and go to Las Vegas for conventions, then we all have to stop it. If he says he will take over your bank and have his people run it themselves, then hell do it. If there is any problem anywhere, Superman is going to swoop down on you and snap the people up who caused the problem and whisk them away. This is just plain malarkey is what it is. Lets just call this crap what it is. Its delusional blather coming from some smiley-faced, smooth-talking snake oil salesman who uses some peoples money to make another group of people who receive it happy. Its all a shell game and a farce and a ruse. Its a show for idiots who want to just sit around and postulate all day long as to whether they happen to be the lucky ones who find themselves in the right group. For the rest of us sinners out there, we have to sit there and carefully watch our step to make sure we dont exhale too much because heaven forbid we might be slapped with a bill for the CO2 emission. Its all because everybody is as dumb as a fencepost and dont pay attention. People dont realize that two soldiers from Camp Lejeune died in Helmand province in Afghanistan as a result of the war against the Taliban that is raging. The reason that people dont take note of this fact is that Obama has created a financial crisis, which is a distraction to allow him to pass out money to his friends in the unions and the others have been sufficiently pacified who are skeptical people but otherwise who get crumbs and use that as proof that everything has changed and that they now have hope let alone that they can now do anything they can because yes they can. Its all about sales and ratings and advertising revenue and such. The war against religious fanatical fascism is but yesterdays headlines and all as a result of someone waving a magic wand. I would gladly give up my health insurance and gas burning automobile if that meant winning the war on fanatical zealots who want to kill infidels, but I dont see that the case has been sufficiently made that by doing one thing then the other will happen. I guess Im not really too concerned with the fate of the world as a whole but rather whether I am going to live and not be killed by some suicide bomber who has a bone to pick with a deity that he or she doesnt recognize as being valid. There is death to this one and death to that one being preached day in and day out, and basically death to anybody who doesnt agree with these people, and yet somehow I have to feel guilty about not contributing to the cause of preserving the polar bears migration and dietary habits and someone who doesnt have health insurance even if it is because they dont know how to put money away for it by living within their means. Does anybody ever talk about those people, or is it that I have to simply agree to underwrite irresponsible people just because somebody told me I have to? And then I could go on and on about how the Federal Reserve is the real government after all, and everyone who thinks that money comes from their elected officials is about as delusional as believing in the Easter bunny. But enough of that topic is quite enough, and frankly Im just at the point of saying that I love this recession. In fact, I wish there was a depression that lasts for years. I hope people get wiped out big time, and all the crooks and criminals and all the irresponsible people all get lumped together in one giant pity party in which the media runs out of time to broadcast the sheer volume of victims and then it becomes a senseless circus, which it already is to me. But then people might get the point that misery only loves company when the media glorifies your misery, and even then at best all youre getting is false hope and some crumbs. To those who are players and those who are being played I just have one thing to say, which is that it serves them right. So, as far as Im concerned its all over, folks. Say what you will about the crisis, but I think its wonderful. I love having the truth exposed even if it means raking everybody over the coals and making them wake the hell up. Everybody needs to wake up and realize that they are acting like a bunch of dopes. The only thing that is going to wake people up is a real crisis, not this make believe crises that is just the precursor to the one waiting just around the corner. Hell, lets just face it, if the President and the Treasury Secretary can take over any business they want then they can create any currency they want to create as well. And thats exactly what theyre pondering right now. Their backs are against the wall and they have nowhere to go with the giant bubble of debt they have created. They have to do something radical to save face, and the straw that breaks the camels back is already on its way. -TDN
