Donald Trump told Democrat Sen. Charles Schumer in a phone call he likes him more than his GOP brethren House Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, a source close to the transition team said.

During a recent phone call, the president-elect “said to Schumer he likes Schumer more than Ryan and McConnell because they both wanted him to lose,” the source said. “They are Republicans and Trump knows they didn’t support him.”

A rep from Schumer’s office would not comment on private remarks between the two men.

Trump ridiculed Ryan on Twitter and at rallies during the campaign and teased both Republican leaders, saying they “weren’t in love with me” before the election but they “love him” afterward.

Trump has described his relationship with the incoming Senate minority leader as “very good” and “close” in interviews.

They have spoken several times since the election, sources said.

“These two fellas are both New Yorkers. Washington is like a cafeteria table. You sit where you know,” said a Capitol Hill source.

“These two fellas are both New Yorkers.

I noticed that about Trump and his appointees, friends, etc. Not really surprising unless you hate New Yawkers.

p.s. I was born there.

WTF? I like Chuckie more than Paul?? What kind of 4th grade playground reporting is this? Is Paul going to cry?

Of course Trump likes Schumer more. Schumer was honest in opposing Trump. The others are spineless, back- stabbing traitors to the party.

Trump funneled a bunch of campaign contribution $$$$ to the Schmuckster while the Senator was helping ram Obamacare, the stimulus, and other lefty policies of the emperor down our throats .

Chucky was in a more powerful position for Trump to schmooze .I'm sure they will share more than one NY deli pastrami sandwich before Trump's term is up.
