Title: Texas Parents Told They Will Be Charged & Arrested if They Walk Their Children to School

Magnolia, TX — Walking your child to and from school in Magnolia, Texas can now end in your extortion through fines and even jail time thanks to a new policy implemented by the school’s principal. Bear Branch Elementary School parents have done some hard learning since the  year began about the relationship between schools and the American police state after they were told they will be charged with trespassing for walking their own children onto school grounds.

“She’s threatening to arrest people,” said Wendy Jarman to FOX 26 about principal, Holly Ray — and she’s correct. Since the beginning of the year, multiple parents have been cited, threatened with charges, and threatened with arrest for the entirely ordinary act of dropping off their kids at school.

Parents at the school have even started a petition and garnered hundreds of signatures to reverse what they are calling bully tactics. However, it has all been in vain.

Principal Ray is getting plenty of negative publicity for her policy, but she has no plans of changing it and has cops to back her up. The newly enacted policy is enforced by Montgomery County Constables.

“This has happened to many parents,” Jarman says. “They have been cited. They have been threatened, if they step one foot on school property, they will be arrested and charged with who knows what.”

Another parent pointed out, when speaking with FOX 26, that he was also threatened. The ridiculous nature of this policy, backed by the force of police, has now sent parents running for the door.

Wendy Jarman has since pulled her children out and placed them in private school. Jarman, who lived in the neighborhood behind the school, used to enjoy the walks with her children and escorting them in to class — but they can’t do it anymore.

Frank Young is another parent who’s fled the school because of the police state tactics.

“Mrs. Ray’s policy is implying that a parent doesn’t have the ability or capability to decide what is safest for her children and that the school district does,” Young says. “I disagree.”

According to FOX 26, who asked the school district for a response on the matter, the policy is in effect with the goal of having a safe dismissal process. But what’s safer than allowing a parent to escort their children to and from school on foot?

According to many of the parents, who’ve been attending Bear Branch Elementary School for years, there was nothing unsafe about the old pick up and drop off procedures. And, according to FOX 26, the parents say this is merely a principal overstepping her boundaries.

According to Young, this policy has infuriated many of the other parents too, but they are simply going along to get along — something this brave parent refuses to do.

“The most toxic thing we can do for our kids is not fight for truth and justice,” Young says.

According to FOX 26, multiple other parents have been threatened with jail, but are not ready to speak about it publicly. Apparently, the tyranny in this school has gotten so bad that it’s not just parents who are leaving, but teachers and staff too.

Parents are not now, and they have never been, prohibited from walking their child home from the Bear Branch elementary School.

Parents who want to walk their child home from school are allowed, and have always been allowed, to do so.

Keep telling yourself that.
I will keep telling YOU and everyone that:
Parents are not now, and they have never been, prohibited from walking their child home from the Bear Branch elementary School.

Parents who want to walk their child home from school are allowed, and have always been allowed, to do so.

There absolutely is no evidence to the contrary.
According to FOX 26, multiple other parents have been threatened with jail, but are not ready to speak about it publicly. Apparently, the tyranny in this school has gotten so bad that it’s not just parents who are leaving, but teachers and staff too.
Repeating that still does not make it true.

Teachers and staff are NOT leaving. A couple of parents [well, four to be exact] did decide to pull their child from the school and that was before the beginning of the school year in September 2015….that was September, 2015. Since that time, the enrollment at Bear Branch elementary School has increased by 2%.

There is no evidence that parents have been threatened with jail. One parent was served with No Trespass Order for “disrupting the school by physically threatening and verbally harassing a staff member [IN THE SCHOOL] in front of students and other parents.”

The article is another yellow journalism fabrication….IT IS A LIE.

That is a LIE….it has NOT happened to MANY parents.

They will NOT be charged with “WHO KNOWS What.”

During the past 16 months since this afternoon dismissal plan went into effect:

No one has been cited.
No one has been charged.
And no one has been arrested.
Only one parent “could” have been charged….and that was with trespassing.

And that resulted from the violent action by that parent and physically threatening a staff member inside the school.

That 1 year trespassing restriction has since been removed….in September, 2016.

Nothing here, folks…

Parents are not now, and they have never been, prohibited from walking their child home from the Bear Branch elementary School.

Parents who want to walk their child home from school are allowed, and have always been allowed, to do so.

In typical yellow journalism fashion, one lady says something that may or may not be true and it is grabbed onto without any confirmation whatsoever and it is published as the almighty ironclad Gospel.

“No parent has been arrested for wanting to pick up their child and walk home.”

Parents are not now, and they have never been, prohibited from walking their child home from the Bear Branch elementary School.

Parents who want to walk their child home from school are allowed, and have always been allowed, to do so.

He is prone to silly mistakes because of blind spots in how he uses logic.

He wants to think that he is being right and has quick answers….but completely fails to realize that he blows it by not fact-checking and thinking things through.

Just to be clear - your contention is that the Free Though Project is "fake news", local FOX stations are "fake news" any site that posts information that has shown to be fact is "fake news" and any site that posts factual information that is uncomfortable for Gatlin or paints government institutions in an unflattering light is also "fake news".

Also, parents who speak out to the media cannot be trusted because - oh what's that word..."eyewitnesses".

You continue to deny the fact that parents are being threatened with arrest if they walk their child to school and that some parents have withdrawn their kids...even though the parents themselves have spoken out about it.

Jarman pulled her children out of the school Monday and placed them in private school. She lives in the neighborhood behind the school. Her kids were walkers, and she escorted them, but they can't do that anymore.

Ray won't allow it. Ray has gotten Montgomery County Constables to be her enforcers.

"This has happened to many parents," Jarman says. "They have been cited. They have been threatened, if they step one foot on school property, they will be arrested and charged with who knows what."

Frank Young has one of those warnings. He also lives close to the school and he also pulled his children out of it. Young says no effort to negotiate a better policy or even hundreds of signatures on a petition got the district to change the policy or bully tactics.

"Mrs. Ray's policy is implying that a parent doesn't have the ability or capabiity to decide what is safest for her children and that the school district does," Young says. "I disagree".

Oh, wait - these parents are "eyewitnesses" and Gatlin says that means they are lying.

Teachers and staff are NOT leaving. A couple of parents [well, four to be exact] did decide to pull their child from the school and that was before the beginning of the school year in September 2015….that was September, 2015. You do realize that the story I posted is from 2016 right?

Fox26 knows of 2 other parents who were just threatened with arrest. They are not ready to speak about it publicly yet. But other parents told us the principal's "my way or else" tactics go deeper than the dismissal process. Parents say not only are students leaving because of it, but teachers and staff are leaving the school, too.

Nope, that is NOT being clear and definitely not my contention. The Free Thought Project took a 16 month old event and spun it with yellow journalism to show it as a current story which was a total LIE. And the Fox26 did a lousy job of reporting on this incident over 16 months ago. One or two angry people totally biased against the school’s Student Dismissal Plan were interview by Fox26. Fox26 presented that information without ever going to the Principal of Bear Branch Elementary School or the Chairman of the Magnolia County School Board to find out the truth of the matter. Had Fox26 checked as I did, they would have found out that:
Parents are not now, and they have never been, prohibited from walking their child home from the Bear Branch elementary School.

Parents who want to walk their child home from school are allowed, and have always been allowed, to do so.

Six parents withdrew their children from the school at the beginning of September, 2015 when this new Student Dismissal Plan went into effect. Two for other reasons and four because the school changed their Student Release Procedure for safety and crowd control purposes. So that the parents who wanted to walk their child home would see their kids released from school 30 minutes later, after the cars picking up students had left the area and there was no danger of kids running into the street congested with vehicular traffic.

All the other parents of the 650 students had no problem with the change and accepted it. Since the plan went into effect, no teacher of staff member has resigned because of the change in the Student Release Procedure [as it has been stated]. Again, only 4 parents pulled their children from the school because of the 30 minute change in student release. Had Fox26 done their job….they could have found out all of this as I did….and put out an objectively truthful story. Unfortunately, they did not. You know the drill….you have seen it used often in your yellow journalism articles and you frequently use it.

During the past 16 months since this afternoon dismissal plan went into effect:

No one has been cited.
No one has been charged.
And no one has been arrested.
Only one parent “could” have been charged….and that was with trespassing. The parent was not and the trespassing restriction was lifted four months ago. That parent threated physical harm to a school staff member in the school, in front of students and other parents and that was the reason for the trespassing restriction.

And now you have the rest of the story….almost, there is some more information I may choose to present.

Jarman pulled her children out of the school Monday and placed them in private school.
Yes, she did.
She lives in the neighborhood behind the school. Her kids were walkers, and she escorted them, but they can't do that anymore.
That is a LIE.

All she had to do was arrive at the school at 3:50 instead of the normal 3:20 time she had been arriving.

She didn’t allow her kids to start classes at the school in September, 2015….because she was one of the four parents who objected to the change. Again, none of the other parents with 650 students in the school removed their kids.

Why she would see fit to remove her kids for the close association and personal friendship they had with their established classmates and enroll them in a different school where they would be surround by new kids….seems rather heartless to me. All for only a 30 minute delay in picking up her kids at old school and then walking them home.

Jarman does sound like your kinda person, Dekcard....someone you could really identify with.

Parents are not now, and they have never been, prohibited from walking their child home from the Bear Branch elementary School.

Not yet, but I'm sure you will agree that the parents have been threatened.

You seem to think that threatening a parent with arrest for the "crime" of walking their kids to school is wise thing to do.

There wer only 4 parents who withdrew their kids

Oh - so kids WERE withdrawn from school due to this policy - thank you for admitting that finally. You do realize that other parents and teachers considered leaving the school as well, right?

(From another source)

The ostensible reason for this step at Bear Branch Elementary is "safety," but parents interviewed by local reporters think it's really about the principal exerting ironclad control over the pick-up procedures. A video of the line of cars at pick-up time looked like a funeral cortege, solemnly inching forward.

No matter how close the children live to the school, they are required to take the bus or be picked up by car.

Frank Young has one of those warnings. He also lives close to the school and he also pulled his children out of it. Young says no effort to negotiate a better policy or even hundreds of signatures on a petition got the district to change the policy or bully tactics.

"Mrs. Ray's policy is implying that a parent doesn't have the ability or capability to decide what is safest for her children and that the school district does," Young says. "I disagree."

He thinks parents have the right to decide what their kids do outside of school? What a nut.

The Montgomery County Constables have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with enforcing school policy.

The court ordered the a Montgomery County Constable to serve the One Year - No Trespass Order on the parent who had threated physical violence against a school staff member while inside the school.

Serving a Court Order or Summons is a normal designated duty of a County Constable.

It was pure YELLOW JOURNALISM to try and make the Montgomery County Constables be ENFORCERS of school policy.

This is not, and never has been, about walking their kids TO school.

This is entirely about a modified School Dismissal Procedure that went into effect at the beginning of the school year in September 2015.

The change was that those parents desiring to pick up their kids at school and walk them home were to do so at 3:50 instead of 3:20.

The reason for the School Dismissal Procedure was to let the back up vehicular on the streets of vehicles by parents waiting to pick up students clear out.

Parents were never restricted from walking their kids to school and the only change to walk them home was that those students would be released 30 minutes later….at 3:50 instead of 3:20?

There is no news here. It is a very old story stemming from a modification in the school’s afternoon dismissal procedures that happened long ago….16 months ago, way back in September, 2015.

As usual, the media simply over reacted to the hysteria of 2 named and 2 unnamed disgruntled parents who did like the being delayed from walking their child home from school by 30 minutes. They removed their kids from the school. That is all that happened.

Parents are not now, and they have never been, prohibited from walking their child home from the Bear Branch elementary School.

Parents who want to walk their child home from school are allowed, and have always been allowed, to do so.

Nothing tragic happened. The school simply decided over 16 months ago to delay letting out the children to the parents who walk their kids home from school by 30 minutes in order to clear out the vehicular traffic congesting the street in front of the school with parents waiting in their vehicles to pick up their kids. It took the 30 minutes for the vehicular traffic to clear and then the kids walking home with their parents along the street faced far less danger from running out into the greatly congested traffic.

All that happened to launch this spastic yellow journalism article was, a few [4] irrational persons decided they didn’t like the 30 minute delay, started to raise Hell in the school and one parent physically threatened a staff member and then went crying to the media to present warped and one sided information that was not factually correct. As usual, the media went with it to create a sensationalistic journalistic story without getting the complete facts about the change from the school.

Typical yellow journalism …

“She’s threatening to arrest people,” said Wendy Jarman to FOX 26 about principal, Holly Ray — and she’s correct, said Matt Agorist Who went on to say that since the beginning of the year, multiple parents have been cited, threatened with charges, and threatened with arrest for the entirely ordinary act of dropping off their kids at school.
So said Wendy and Matt Agorist …

As Paul Harvey would say: “And now for the rest of the story”….the REAL story.

Only one time did law enforcement become involved. That was the result of a parent “disrupting the school by physically threatening and verbally harassing a staff member in front of students and other parents” and of course the school district “would not tolerate this unruly behavior creating an environment of fear for the staff and threatening the safety of the students.” Although the incident was undoubtedly troubling, fortunately no students or staff members were harmed.

The situation was not easy to navigate when one parent became so hostile towards school personnel that law enforcement had to get involved. As the result of the parent’s threating action to an employee on campus in front of other staff members and students, no charges were filed, but a trespass warning was issued not allowing that individual on campus for the remainder of the year.

So, she’s [Wmdy] is not correct:

Multiple parents were NOT cited, threatened with charges, and threatened with arrest….only ONE loud mouth who became in your face belligerent and physically threatened a school staff member was.

That loud mouth kinda reminds me about a volunteer fire chief I recently read about …

At the beginning of the school year in September, 2015, the Bear Branch Elementary School implemented a modified “Student Let Out Dispersal Policy.” The change in no way prohibited parents from walking their child home from the school.

Furthermore, this article was published on December 29, 2016, well over 16 months after the Student Let Out Dispersal Policy was modified in September 2015….and there have been no changes made to the policy since then.

This is so typical of The Free Thought Project in that when they have a slow day and find nothing they can make into cop-hating news they dig into the archives and drag out some old information. Such as this piece where they try to make a simple procedural timing change in the staged release of students that occurred over 16 months ago for the orderly flow of students leaving the school….become a major police state action against all parents who walk their kids home from the school.

Unreal …

Threatening them with arrest …
All I keep hear of this is from 4 disgruntled parents, 2 named and 2 unnamed….who removed their kids from the school

When I learn of this from the parents of the other 650 students who did not….then I will give it consideration.
