The goal of the job title review Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus initiated back in January is to make women feel more included now that they have access to all combat roles, but the reason midshipman will remain in its current state is because the name is a rank stipulated by the law, Capital Gazette reports. I propose that approximately half the ships be referred to as she or her and half as he or him. This can be phased in as the individual ships self-identify their preferred pronouns.
