WASHINGTON — In her first visit to the Capitol since her shocking election loss, Hillary Clinton on Thursday called on Congress to address the “epidemic” of fake news that she said was a danger to the nation. Clinton was speaking at a ceremony to honor retiring Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid when she diverted from her compliments to address “one threat in particular that should concern all Americans.” She called on Congress to stop the “epidemic of malicious fake news and false propaganda that flooded social media over the past year.” One such fake news story had Clinton running a child sex abuse ring out of a pizzeria in Washington, Comet Ping Pong. On Sunday, a 28-year-old North Carolina man, Edgar Welch, traveled to the pizzeria with an AR-15 rifle to “investigate” and fired off his weapon. No one was injured. “It’s now clear that so-called fake news can have real-world consequences,” Clinton said, though not mentioning that particular incident. “This isn’t about politics or partisanship,” she said. “Lives are at risk. Lives of ordinary people just trying to go about their days to do their jobs, contribute to their communities.” Social media sites like Facebook are now looking into labeling fake news stories as hoaxes. False stories were peddled throughout the election through the help a Russian propaganda campaign aimed at hurting Clinton, the Washington Post reported. “It’s a danger that must be addressed and addressed quickly,” Clinton continued. “Bipartisan legislation is making its way through Congress to boost the government’s response to foreign propaganda and Silicon Valley is starting to grapple with the challenge and threat of fake news.” At the start of the speech — her second public event since her defeat — Clinton quipped about the upcoming inauguration. “This is not exactly the speech at the Capitol I’d hoped to be giving after the election, but after a few weeks of taking selfies in the woods, I thought it would be a good idea to come out.” Poster Comment: Gatlin warned us about this, so it must be true? When Gatlin warns about something….it is definitely true. The old credo imparted upon new reporters of “trust but verify” is no longer the norm. The impetus that once was on a cub reporter to provide hard evidence and authoritative confirmation of a story before publishing, a high bar set for journalist, is no longer there. Fake news sites which spin innuendo, rumor and conspiracy into digestible, shareable headlines, has negated that obligation. Not only is it bad that “fake journalist” write the “fake news” bullshit….the great danger is that now there are ignorant assholes who actually spread the “fake news” bullshit wherever they can for whatever agenda reason they have.
Not surprising to see you on the same side as Hillary and The Washington Post.

Youre too stupid to realize that the "fake news" meme is a psy-op carried out by fed.gov and the dying mainstream media to silence alternative journalists and eventually shut down any website that dissents from the official narrative of events. Either you are stupid, or you really want these alternative sites shut down. You, Hillary and the the controlled Mockingbird propaganda mouthpieces that lie out of habit. You base your hatred of "fake news" on a list made by a LEFTIST professor as a response to Trump winning the election - how can you not see this? We've tried and tried to get you to wake the fuck up, but your cognitive dissonance will not allow you to see this blatant assault on freedom of the press. Propaganda enablers like you will only be happy when the government controls ALL the news. Frankly, sheep like you sicken me.
It is human nature for some folks to like “that easy answer” without going to any effort in the form of critical thinking involved to get to factual news. Fake news offers the chance for ignorant and lazy to be “special” and “smart,” all without actually having to understand anything other than what an author wants them to understand without looking at the raw truth. It is your human nature, Deckard, to make sure you try to snooker as many of the ignorant and lazy as you possibly can for your undisclosed personal agenda.
