Gen. James Mattis, known to his troops as “Mad Dog Mattis,” is retiring after 41 years of military service. The Marine Corps Times is calling Mattis the “most revered Marine in a generation.” Mattis has been commander of the United States Central Command since 2010 and led the 1st Marine Division into Iraq in 2003. According to reports, President Barack Obama decided to force the Marine Corps legend out early because he rubbed civilian officials the wrong way, and forced them to answer tough questions regarding Iran. Mattis was an inspirational leader of men and his powerful words will go down in history. Here are some of the best words that the “Mad Dog” has had to offer: 1. “I don’t lose any sleep at night over the potential for failure. I like his attitude!
The trouble is the fact that the USMC tactical manual is the shortest book in history. 1 page only,and when you open the covers you read "Hey,diddle,diddle. Straight up the middle. The End." That HAS to be the motto of the USMC because they exist to attack protected beachheads,and secure them so the army can come in with their heavy equipment and massive manpower to take over. It's nothing short of a brutal job,but in truth that is the ONLY way to succeed. It's also the only way to remain living because if you are anything less than 100 percent aggressive and allow the enemy to bog you down,they WILL kill each and every one of you,as well as those who come ashore behind you. While that mindset works perfectly for commanders in the USMC,advisors to the President need to have more flexible outlooks. BOYCOTT PAYPAL AND CLOSE YOUR PP ACCOUNTS NOW! I like this guy, he's America First! In a speech in Ohio tonight, Trump announced Mattis as his choice for SecDef.
The guy is a poser who gave himself the name "Mad Dog",and has never been in a gunfight in his life,despite all the "Sgt Rock" claims he makes about the thrill of killing somebody. He spend the early part of his career when he SHOULD have been commanding platoons and rifle companies as a admin type in recruiting for 6 years,and the other time was in various schools. His first time in a combat zone was as a USMC Lt Colonel. Lt Colonels don't get into gun fights. Or even close to them. They are ,for lack of a better term,"battlefield administrators" that sit way back from the battlelines,and commnand operations. BTW,don't get me wrong. There is nothing shameful about doing whatever duty you are assigned to do,regardless if it is as a rifle platoon platoon leader,or a Lt in charge of a finance office. Duty is duty,and you do the best job you can do regardless of what that duty requires. BUT.........,you don't shuffle paper and then call yourself "Mad Dog" and talk in public about what a thrill it is to kill someone up close. Methinks the SOB has seen too many movies. Former Special Forces officer: Gen. ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis left ‘my men to die’
Unfortunately,the USMC has a record of doing this. The USMC was tasked with coming to the aid of the SF camp at Lang Vei in VN during the VN war,and when the camp was being overran by a superior force of NVA regulars backed up with Soviet tanks,the USMC General refused to send them any help,saying something similar to "I'm not going to risk the lives on any of my Marines to save a bunch of gooks and misfit advisors." He was so outrageous about it that General Westmorland personally few to Nha Trang to relive him of duty the next morning. Meanwhile,the small SOG detachment based at Nha Trang got into a couple of Korean War Kingbee helicopters the next morning at sunrise and landed on the airstrip there and managed to save a few of the survivors from becoming POW's. IIRC,there are still two SF A Team members from the SF detachment at Lang Vei that are still missing in action. One was later awarded the Medal of Honor for knocking out a couple of the Russian tanks. IIRC,this was the first time the NVA used tanks inside of SVN. Besides the killed,wounded and missing in action USSF A team members and their Montagnard strikers there,IIRC there were at least a couple of hundred wives and children of the Montagnard strikers at the camp killed by the NVA because the SF camp had sent them up the road to the big Marine Base so they would be safe,but the Marines refused to let them enter even after being notified by the SF camp on the secure net that these people were the wives and children of the SF camp strikers. All this because some shithead USMC General refused to do his duty. If there is one thing the USMC is,it is "wear red and march in a straight line". They HATE anybody that isn't conventional. Always have. They couldn't wait to disband the Marine Raiders after WW-2,and to eliminate the USMC parachute battalions. I had hoped this would have gotten better by now. The truth is,I never personally met or dealt with a USMC officer that wasn't sharp as a tack mentally,or anything less than 100 percent aggressive. I had been hoping they would have taken over control of the USMC by now,and changed that mindset. Apparently that never happened or this shithead would have never received the first star.
