With all due respect, I don't like your approach at all (except the part about Russia). What I have in mind, and what the Revelation signifies, is that we wont put any boots on the ground, and we (along with Russia and our NATO allies) will just bomb the hell out of ISIS (and Al Qaida, etc.) with "exceedingly great hell." He spend the early part of his career when he SHOULD have been commanding platoons and rifle companies as a admin type in recruiting for 6 years,and the other time was in various schools. His first time in a combat zone was as a USMC Lt Colonel. Lt Colonels don't get into gun fights. Or even close to them. They are ,for lack of a better term,"battlefield administrators" that sit way back from the battlelines,and commnand operations. BTW,don't get me wrong. There is nothing shameful about doing whatever duty you are assigned to do,regardless if it is as a rifle platoon platoon leader,or a Lt in charge of a finance office. Duty is duty,and you do the best job you can do regardless of what that duty requires. BUT.........,you don't shuffle paper and then call yourself "Mad Dog" and talk in public about what a thrill it is to kill someone up close. Methinks the SOB has seen too many movies.
