International News Title: Russia warns of NATO buildup near Belarus Russia warns of NATO buildup near Belarus November 2, 2016, 11:51 am Russia says it will beef up its defenses against a NATO build-up along its western borders Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu said on Wednesday that the US and NATO are building up their offensive capabilities on Russias western borders, near Belarus. Russia and Belarus will join forces to strengthen their mutual security in the face of the complexity of the situation, the minister told the two countries top military brass. Those actions undermine strategic stability and are forcing Russia to take reciprocal defensive measures, including some in the Western theater, Shoigu said in remarks carried by local Russian press. [NATO] has not abandoned attempts to dictate its will to other countries through economic and political means, as well as by military force, he said, adding an information war is in full swing. Shoigu said that international crisis response mechanisms have stalled, with hotspots cropping up near the Russian border. In response, the minister said that Russia will now be supplying state-of-the-art armaments and weapons systems to army units stationed on the Western borders. Meanwhile, Russia on Tuesday announced that it would be holding military drills with Serbia in an area stretching to Belarus. The drills, named Slavic Brotherhoold, will involve various military units such as 150 Russian paratroopers, 50 air force staffers, and three transport planes. NATO is also holding drills in neighboring Montenegro along with 10 member states and allies. NATO is hoping to convince Montenegro to join the alliance. The BRICS Post with inputs from Agencies: One Response to Russia warns of NATO buildup near Belarus debbie Reply November 2, 2016 at 4:41 pm I recall an article by Psychohistory Lloyd Demause that western military named their bombs and he said those bombs were their babies which they delivered; their missiles were extensions of their masculinity, if you will. He said male children are especially prone to violence without good mothering, and that female children who receive poor mothering usually are poor mothers themselves. The cycle can be self-perpetuating unless we address the roots of violence in individual families, the root of violence begins there. Trust begins there. Self-respect begins there. The west with its pride and its manipulative and violent ways which aim to colonize everyone is a reflection of how they were raised by parents who colonized them rather than raised them to be sovereign, self-respecting, creative individuals. Western (and some eastern) societies remain stuck in old and destructive male-female and parenting models which are the roots of this current problem, and every war. I know that every country had its own challenges, and some have a longer way to travel than others to maturity. The west is a very good example, I think, of a society that has advanced only superficially, technologically, but emotionally is very regressed, immature and defensive. Any country that is imbalanced this way will do what the US, UK, and others are doing trying to mask and deny their own internal imbalance by looking for scapegoats. They lack any rational understanding, nor do they seek it. Very dangerous because their brains are not right. 80% of the US population does not want either presidential candidate to lead this country (I am a US citizen). These candidates do, however, represent the very problems we as a country need to address within our population; that of a great need to improve our parenting models to give love and respect, not gadgets and money. Our values are upside-down, and our presidential candidates are mirrors of this problem, which we as a nation must resolve. Meanwhile, those great nations being threatened by the US and their similars must do whatever is necessary to protect their well-being and their children. The choice is clear.
