LF used to be a GREAT place to discuss politics and other matters without regard to WikiLeaks. Currently, and everday, the same ol' story ... WIKI this or WIKI that are unaccounted for because, quite frankly, anyone can send shit into Julian Assange's server making shit up.

Latched onto total BULLSHIT, we have "nolu chan" sucking Assange's asshole. It is amazing to see people think that WikiLeaks has any standards at all.

LF used to be a GREAT place to discuss politics and other matters ...

… before you Paultard libertarian assholes turned the place into a Stormfront II chit-chat site with your anarchist and hate-cops movement.

The present sidebar article listing is a wonderful change and great improvement.

It is refreshing to see that Deckard only posted three articles during the past five days….and not one of them was scare-mongering yellow journalism.

Don’t you for one minute knock what nolu chan has done.

Look at the discussions as of late. LF has slowly turned back into a GREAT place where the discussion are once again about politics and other matters.

All you have ever done on this forum is to complain about one thing or another.

Good greif, man….get a fuckin’ life.

Your goal to demoralize everyone has long gotten to be old stuff.

Let it go, Bucky....let it go.

You are doing a great job, nolu....keep it up.

Keep it up because the material you post is pertinent to the current political situation and there are numerous posters participating on your threads and they do so with interest.

And, keep it up if for not other reason....it bugs the shit outta Bucky,

Politifact: Yes we can fact check Kaine's email

This Politifact post muddles over whether the Wikileaks leaked emails have been doctored, specifically the one about Tim Kaine being picked a year ago. The post is wrong -- we can verify this email and most of the rest.

In order to bloc spam, emails nowadays contain a form of digital signatures that verify their authenticity. This is automatic, it happens on most modern email systems, without users being aware of it.

This means we can indeed validate most of the Wikileaks leaked DNC/Clinton/Podesta emails. There are many ways to do this, but the easiest is to install the popular Thunderbird email app along with the DKIM Verifier addon. Then go to the Wikileaks site and download the raw source of the email https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/2986.

[...]

As a side note, I offer a 1-BTC (one bit coin, ~$600 at today's exchange rate) bounty to anybody who can prove me wrong. If you can doctor the above email, then you win the bounty. Some rules apply (i.e. it needs to be a real doctored email, not a trick). I offer this bounty because already people are trying to cast doubt on whether DKIM works, without offering any evidence. Put up or shut up. Lamers aren't welcome.

Did I say that “conservatism doesn't support lower taxes and lower spending?”

No, I did not.

I said that “libertarianism is not some variant of conservatism. It is its polar opposite.”

[…]

It is clear that the modern libertarian movement has its roots in radicalism rather than any sort of conservatism. However, since its initial beginnings within the context of the radical Left, much of the libertarian movement has turned sharply rightward, though in varying and often conflicting ways. This essay will argue that this rightward shift within the libertarian movement is severely misguided, as libertarianism and conservatism are not only historically antagonistic to one another but are indeed diametrical opposites.

Still trying to sell that lie, eh?

“If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals — if we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories.

The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is.” - Ronald Reagan

Reagan also said this: “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, ‘I’m from the government, and I’m here to help.’”

... Ronald Reagan was a libertarian

Reagan also said this ,,,

Your old asshole buddy, Ron Paul, did a lot more than just “say” something about Reagan not being a libertarian. Ron Paul actually RESIGNED from the Republican Party over his disagreement on the way Reagan handled the federal budget “because Reagan was no libertarian.”

Another asshole libertarian said:

I don't get why Libertarians hate Barack Obama, yet LOVE Ronald Reagan. If you were a true libertarian you would hate Reagan just as much. Reagan EXPANDED gov't, created socialism FOR THE WEALTHY, DESTROYED the free market by throwing TONS of subsidies at major corporations so the middle class would get docked and docked UNTIL THIS DAY. As far as I'm concerned they're basically the same guy except differences in pigmentation.

Furthermore, Gene Healy writing for the Cato Institute profoundly proclaimed: Ronald Reagan Was No Libertarian.

[…]

Reagan was no libertarian. Instead of wrapping ourselves in his mantle, those of us who support deep reductions in government’s size and power should take a clear-eyed look at the Reagan record.

The Cato Institute did just that in “Assessing the Reagan Years,” which showed that under Reagan, federal spending actually increased from 23 percent to 24 percent of gross national product, while payroll tax increases resulted in a net tax increase for most Americans.

Not only did Reagan renege on his promise to abolish President Carter’s new Cabinet departments, Education and Energy, he appointed secretaries dedicated to their preservation.

[And so on …]

My goodness, sport….you have no idea about something you are attempting to promote. You simply did as you always do. You read a headline that you like and want to agree with….then you copy and past a link to the bogus article.

How can [conservatives and libertarians] be "polar opposites" if they agree on lower taxes ...

The standard libertarian position on income taxes is there should be no income tax at all while on the other hand, conservatives advocate for the continuation of the income tax and the IRS. I classify that as “polar opposite.”

Then I will use the old communication strategy of answering a question with some questions.

How can they not be “polar opposites” when libertarians advocate and support abortion as a “woman’s choice?”

How can they not be “polar opposites” when libertarians believe that “sex with underage teens could be okay under certain conditions?”

How can they not be “polar opposites” when libertariana call for “the legalization of prostitution and all drugs?”

How can they not be “polar opposites” when libertarians call for “open borders as their immigration position?”

I do understand the meaning of “polar opposites” and I will continue to use the phrase.

In no way can I ever support the 1 percent’s loathsome libertarian scheme.

Oh, Libertarian Party… You could have had me.

You were this close!

I am the demographic you are trying to reach out to: disenfranchised with the Republican Party presidential nominee; a lover of liberty not of political parties; someone searching for a new place to call home that represents the ideas I hold dear to my heart.

I was optimistically hopeful. I spent my entire day tuned into the Libertarian Party convention hoping to see the legitimacy that I was yearning for.

Would this be my new place to put my trust? Behind lovers of liberty like myself who wanted to make legitimate change, wanted to be taken seriously, and wanted to defend life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?

Nope. I didn’t find that while watching the Libertarian Party convention. How can we make legitimate change and be taken seriously with the buffoonery I witnessed during the convention?

People like presidential candidate Darryl Perry losing his poise, screaming and pounding the podium, not only during the Saturday night debate but also during his concession speech.

How about the poor Libertarian Party chair, Nicholas Sarwark, who I legitimately felt sorry for throughout the whole event? He struggled to maintain order during the chaotic convention.

How can the Libertarian Party say they defend life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness when their presidential candidate doesn't represent those values?

There is no pro-life candidate in the 2016 election. The Libertarian Party should have represented that. There is no pro-2nd amendment candidate ticket in the 2016 election. Again, the Libertarian Party should have represented that. And if the Libertarian Party candidate doesn’t support religious freedom, then how can they support me pursuing my own happiness?

This is disappointing. I was gleefully optimistic about potentially becoming a member of the Libertarian Party. I spent a lot of time mulling it over and planned to use the convention to seal the deal for me.

Well... they definitely solidified my decision, it just isn't the same one I initially had coming into the convention. The Libertarian Party gave a platform to several foolish people that took away from the potential influx of weary ex-GOP voters, like myself.

The passionate candidates for liberty, some who were truly inspirational, were over shadowed by chaos. This was the Libertarian Party's shot at winning over the average American who feels that neither the GOP nor the Democrats represent them. And for conservatives like me, you just blew it.
