A new study from Men's Health finds that 48% of men have admitted to trimming or shaving their legs.
x The website surveyed their Facebook followers after noticing that more than one guy at the gym had shaved legs, making them wonder if it was a growing trend. The study showed that 33.1 per cent of the participants admitted to using a trimmer to cut the hair, while 15.3 per cent said they shave their legs frequently and do not find it weird. One the other hand, 51.6 per cent insisted they would never touch their leg hair. Look:
The publications sister title, Women's Health, also had a survey on what their readers think about men removing their leg hair. They found that almost 30 per cent of the ladies like it when a guy trims the hair. Meanwhile, 22 per cent of the participants love their boys with clean-shaven legs.

So why do guys do it?
According to the study, the trend might have something to do with the desire to look like an athlete (think: cyclists, swimmers) as hair-free legs tend to accentuate muscle and tone. Some men on the survey responded that it even felt like they had a porn star look.
"For me, its purely aesthetic. When I started working out, I shaved my arms so you could see more definition. In the fitness world, its not as taboo for men to remove body hair, said male image consultant Aaron Marino in an interview. So I kept doing it, and then started shaving my legs, too. I prefer the look, and I feel like its cleaner. Hair isnt one of those things I need, he adds.
Looks like the rise of the spornosexualsmen striving for the smooth buffness of sports stars or porn starsis definitely here.
