A drug twice as powerful as heroin that has caused at least 80 deaths in the U.S. is legal in all but four states and can be bought cheaply on the internet. If you touch it, you could go into cardiac arrest, said Wade Carpenter, the police chief in Park City, UT, where two 13-year-old boys apparently died from an overdose of the drug that they bought on the internet, NBC News reported.
The super-potent synthetic opioid is commonly known as pink, U-4 andU- 4700. Pink is about 7 1/2 times as strong as morphine and about twice as powerful as heroin. It was developed in the laboratories of pharmaceutical giant Upjohn, but was never tested on humans and was quickly classified as a research chemical.
