The government of Ecuador disconnected the internet access of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange at its Embassy in London because of his site’s publishing of documents that could affect the US presidential election, the government said in a statement today. WikiLeaks announced early on Monday that Assange’s internet link had been severed, saying that it had “activated the appropriate contingency plans.” In that statement, shared by Politico reporter Eric Geller, the Ecuadorian government says it “respects the principle of non-intervention in the internal affairs of other states” and that it “exercised its sovereign right to temporarily restrict access to some of its private communications network within its Embassy in the United Kingdom.” Ecuador also said it “does not yield to pressure from other states,” likely a response to allegations from WikiLeaks that US Secretary of State John Kerry pressured Ecuador to cut Assange’s internet access, something the Department of State denied. The statement says Assange retains his asylum, with Ecuador reiterating “its intention to safeguard his life and physical integrity until he reaches a safe place.”

Yes we should not know the truth about Clinton the most corrupt politician in history!? I guess the obama administration found ecuador's breaking price and will pay it. The corrupt protecting the corrupt! What a great system socialism ie crony capitalism!
No surprises. The Clinton-Obama international criminal cartel sent a strong message that 'government' owns what you see on the internet.
Ecuador didn't say there wasn't any such pressure. And it could have just as easily come from the Clinton Foundation, or one of it's beneficiaries, instead of the State Department itself.
This has no effect of the continuing Wikileaks publications. It does not run out of the Ecuadorean embassy in London.
If it did not run out of Ecuador then there was no reason for the shut down of Julian's communications.
Ecuador reasonably does not want to be seen as sponsoring interference with the American election. They temporarily took away Assange's internet access until the election is over. They are giving him refuge, but not inviting him to bring major problems their way.
For over four years, Ecuador has been providing refuge for Assange. Throughout that time, he has performed whatever Internet tasks he wanted. So, now that Clinton has a hissy-fit, they rescinded his logon priviledges, 'eh?
There is an election going on. I'm surprised you were not aware. Donald Trump talked about grabbing women by the pussy. And it got contentious.
It's fair enough, Assange has been interfering in US politics long enough and as a guest it is disengenous for him to hide behind Ecuador while doing this. All this latest release has done is produce a lot of smoke
