Donald Trump threatens to sue New York Times over sexual harassment report

by Dylan Byers and Brian Stelter
CNN Money
October 13, 2016: 1:23 AM ET

Lawyers for Donald Trump have called on The New York Times to retract a bombshell report in which two women claimed that Trump had touched them inappropriately.

The Times story featured two women, Jessica Leeds and Rachel Crooks, who said that Trump made inappropriate physical advances on them despite the fact that they had never met before. CNN has not been able to independently confirm their accounts.

"Your article is reckless, defamatory and constitutes libel per se," Marc E. Kasowitz, a lawyer representing Trump, wrote in an open letter to Times executive editor Dean Baquet. "We hereby demand that you immediately cease any further publication of this article, remove it from your website and issue a full and immediate retraction and apology. Failure to do so will leave my client with no option but to purse all available actions and remedies."

The letter lacks any substantive facts to cast doubt on the Times story, and is not a lawsuit.

High-ranking sources within the Trump campaign had told CNNMoney that they were "drafting" lawsuits against both the Times and The Palm Beach Post, which published a separate story in which another women claimed Trump had groped her.

This is good. Because once Trump brings the libel suit, stating that it is all a lie, the media will have to produce facts that show it is not.

Trump can also sue the women for the libel, and should.

If it is not true, going straight into court on it is precisely the way to fight it. It will mature Sullivan as a case WHILE Trump is President WITH a Trump-appointed majority on the Supreme Court.

Trump said that he wanted to see Sullivan overturned, and this suit gives him the vehicle by which to overturn it - a lawsuit involving HIM, which HE can choose to force all the way to the Supremes, on which HIS appointees sit. Sullivan could be significantly altered, and THAT would really pull the fangs out of the press when it comes to practicing false, partisan journalism.

Of course, for all of that to be true, he has to WIN.

Thanks to Trump's opening his God damned big mouth about his star power enabing him to grab pussy, half the female shills in the Democratic party can invent stories and they'll be accepted as true and in character. They'll be happy to do it to get Hillary elected, and to be the center of attention for a while. Meanwhile, Hillary's role as an enabler and apologist for Bill's escapades will be forgotten or overlooked.

Winning a lawsuit concerning libel against a major media outlet by a presidential candidate is extremely hard to say the least. However, Trump is on the air now making a very convincing populist argument.

Obama has played at being a president while enjoying the perks … golf, insanely expensive vacations at tax-payer expense. He has ignored the responsibilities of the job; no plans, no budgets, no alternatives … just finger pointing; making him a complete failure as a president

There may be a valid argument that the NYT published in reckless disregard for the truth.

Two Women Say Donald Trump Touched Them Inappropriately

By Megan Twohey and Michael Barbaro
New York Times

More than three decades ago, when she was a traveling businesswoman at a paper company, Ms. Leeds said, she sat beside Mr. Trump in the first-class cabin of a flight to New York. They had never met before.

About 45 minutes after takeoff, she recalled, Mr. Trump lifted the armrest and began to touch her.

According to Ms. Leeds, Mr. Trump grabbed her breasts and tried to put his hand up her skirt.

“He was like an octopus,” she said. “His hands were everywhere.”

She gave up and sat down, this time nearer the small table that supported the telephone. "Maybe Bill'll call," she said to Sheila's glance. Sheila nibbled on a cuticle.

"After last night, I thought maybe you'd be through with him."

"I know what you mean. My God, he was like an octopus. Hands all over the place." She gestured, raising her arms upwards in defense. "The thing is, after a while, you get tired of fighting with him, you know, and after all I didn't really do anything Friday and Saturday so I kind of owed it to him. You know what I mean." She started to scratch. Sheila was giggling with her hand over her mouth. "I'll tell you, I felt the same way, and even after a while," here she bent forward in a whisper, "I wanted to!" Now she was laughing very loudly.

The Coronation Street actor Bill Roache had wandering hands "like an octopus", according to a woman who alleges he groped her in his dressing room when she was a teenager.

Coronation Street is a British soap opera that has been running since 1960. It runs in prime time.

Arrest, trial and acquittal

On 1 May 2013, Roache was arrested on suspicion of having raped a 15-year-old girl in 1967, an allegation he strenuously denied. The Crown Prosecution Service subsequently announced that he was to be charged with two counts of rape.[30] There was a preliminary hearing in a Magistrates' court on 14 May 2013 and a Crown Court hearing took place on 10 June 2013. On 6 June 2013, Roache was charged with a further five counts of indecent assault against girls aged between 12 and 16.

Roache appeared at Preston Crown Court on 2 September and pleaded not guilty to all charges. The full trial started on 14 January 2014 at Preston Crown Court, before Mr Justice Holroyde. During the trial, one charge was dismissed outright by the judge citing a lack of evidence and significant flaws emerged in two witnesses' accounts in relation to the other charges. On 6 February 2014, Roache was found not guilty on all charges. Following his acquittal, Roache gave a brief statement saying that there had been "no winners" and expressing his intent to "get back to work".

During the investigation and trial, Roache's character Ken Barlow was written out of Coronation Street. His on-screen wife Deirdre revealed that he was visiting his sick grandson in Canada. An image of Ken Barlow was removed from the Madame Tussauds waxwork exhibition in Blackpool due to fears it might be vandalised. The waxwork was returned to the exhibition in February 2014 following Roache's acquittal.

Roache resumed filming on Coronation Street in June 2014, and returned to the screen on 4 August of that year.

If Trump were ever to win this lawsuit, it would happen years after the election. This is about demonstrating how corrupt the media is.

True dat. For now, it may take some wind out of the Times' sails. The Times may well have been punked.

It will take no wind out of their sails. They are arrogant, in full battle cry, and they believe that Hillary will win and the courts will protect them.

It is imperative that Trump win this election because control of the courts - meaning the future of the nation - is in the balance.

Justify it? I don't . I condemn it, just as I condemn W's attempt to foist Harriet Myers on the Court, his father's placing Souter on the Court, and Reagan's placing O'Connor and Kennedy on the Court.

I condemn the Republican Supreme Court for having imposed Roe v Wade, Casey and Kelo on the country.

Republicans have for the most part being lying turds, saying they are one thing to get elected, but acting in the interests of other groups who give them money.

Democrats are straightforward about their liberal lock-step "progressive" march. Republicans lie about it.

We know that Hillary will give us another Ginsburg or Sotomayor.

Trump has shown us who he will appoint. It's a list of really conservative jurists.

Trump is not either of the Bushes or Reagan. Those three all believed in free trade, for instance, and they connived at getting pro-choicers on the court. Trump does not believe in free trade and is a pro-lifer: his list of judges are pro-lifers.

Roberts is on the court because W connived at getting him on the court. Nothing more.

Republicans cannot be trusted. Trump was not a Republican until a few years ago, when he decided to run for President. He is much more to the center than Republicans - they generally favor the super rich.

The GOP PTB would rather have the Dems control the White House, both houses of Congress and the Supreme Court than to have Trump elected and threaten their own hold on power.

Here be another threat of litigation.

Melania Trump threatens to sue People — but not over Donald sex assault claims

Chris Perez
New York Post
October 13, 2016

Melania Trump is threatening to sue People Magazine over the story they did about The Donald — but she only wants them to retract the part about her being friends with his accuser, and not the claims that he sexually assaulted her.

On Thursday night, the former model tweeted out a copy of a letter to the publication’s editorial director Jess Cagle and writer Natasha Stoynoff asking them to “immediately and permanently” remove the details within 24 hours or face litigation.

The passage that Melania is referring to is an account of Stoynoff running into her outside Trump Tower and how they had a brief conversation. Her lawyer, Charles Harder, lists three specific statements that they are wanting removed.

The first involves Melania speaking to Stoynoff in Manhattan, the second is a sentence describing how the pair hugged and the third involves a short exchange about how the two of them had “missed” each other.

“The true facts are these: Mrs. Trump did not encounter Ms. Stoynoff on the street, or have any conversation with her. The two are not friends and were never friends or even friendly,” Harder writes, adding that if People doesn’t comply and apologize to Melania, she would “consider her legal options.”

“At the time in question, Mrs. Trump would not have even recognized Ms. Stoynoff if they had encountered one another on the street,” he says.

The letter came just hours after Cagle defended Stoynoff and said in a statement that the magazine would stand behind her reporting.

Stoynoff’s first-person piece was published by People Magazine on October 12 — shortly after three other women came forward claiming they had been sexually assaulted by Trump.

The writer accused the billionaire of pinning her in a room at his million-dollar mansion in Mar-a-Lago, Florida and “forcing his tongue down [her] throat.”

“You know we’re going to have an affair, don’t you?” Trump allegedly told her, speaking in “the same confident tone he uses when he says he’s going to make America great again.”

Here are some reports about another accuser.

Trump Accuser Said He Abusively ‘Nudged’ Her at a Concert That Never Happened

Jim Hoft Oct 13th, 2016 5:54 pm

Mindy McGillivray says Donald Trump nudged her at a concert at Mar-a-Lago at a concert on January 24, 2003. She went public with her story this week.

There was no such concert at Mar-a-Lago on January 24, 2003. GOT News reported:

Mindy McGillivray is falsely claiming that Donald Trump “nudged” her at a Mar-a-Lago concert that never happened. “Sexual assault”? Give us a break.

The hoaxing media has thrown a slew of “sexual assault” allegations at Donald Trump, hoping one sticks and to create a haze of controversy around the GOP nominee.

Melinda Rose “Mindy” McGillivray, told the Palm Beach Post after the second presidential debate that someone bumped her backstage at a Ray Charles concert held at Mar-A-Lago on January 24, 2003:

After the show, [Ken] Davidoff and McGillivray were standing in a pavilion behind the main house in the middle of a group of people. To their left was Regis Philbin and his wife, Joy, according to Davidoff. To McGillivray’s immediate right was Trump and his fiancée, Melania.

“Ray already performed. He’s ready to leave. He’s saying his goodbyes to everyone," McGillivray recalled.

“All of a sudden I felt a grab, a little nudge. I think it’s Ken’s camera bag, that was my first instinct. I turn around and there’s Donald. He sort of looked away quickly. I quickly turned back, facing Ray Charles, and I’m stunned."

McGillivray said she remembers saying to herself, "'OK, am I going to say something now and make a scene or be quiet?’ I chose to stay quiet."

Davidoff said he did not witness the alleged groping but he said he has never had any reason to doubt McGillivray.

Asked about the possibility that what she felt was Trump or someone accidentally bumping into her, McGillivray said no. “This was a pretty good nudge. More of a grab," she said. “It was pretty close to the center of my butt. I was startled. I jumped."

…Critical details of McGillivray’s story don’t add up.

McGillivray claims that when she was nudged in 2003, Trump and his wife Melania were engaged. But a quick Google search proves this is false: Trump proposed to Melania in April 2004. Why didn’t the Palm Beach Post or McGillivray check this obvious detail?

Perhaps because they never bothered to verify a Ray Charles concert at Mar-A-Lago even happened on January 24, 2003. A Getty Images search shows Trump and Melania posing with Ray Charles at Mar-A-Lago … in a photo by Davidoff Photos Studio, created on January 1, 2003, more than three weeks before McGillivray claimed she was “grabbed” at a Ray Charles concert. A Ray Charles concert chronology shows that on January 23, a Ray Charles concert in Seattle was canceled, but nothing was scheduled for January 24.

Is McGillivray the most credible witness the Clinton campaign and their media arm has to offer? McGillivray, perhaps seeing how Alicia Machado was used by the Clintons then destroyed by the new media, was somewhat upfront about her criminality. She has an extensive, messy, criminal past, including the time she was arrested and booked for a driving drunk with a child in the vehicle on May 1, 2012 in Palm Springs, Florida.

Truth is, I don't care about sexual harassment. If it's true, I don't care. If it's false, I want the liars sued and fined.

I didn't care about Clinton's Lewinsky, and I don't care if Donald Trump really does just "grab 'em by the pussy".

Women who hang around powerful men do it because they want the perks that go with it. The price of those perks is sex. That's the REASON the men pay for those women to have all of those parties and nice things.

In other words: the women who hang around powerful men, party with them, etc., are doing it for money - even if the money is in an indirect prestige- and-entertainment form - and the men are paying for all of that because they are looking for sex. And the women know it.

I don't care what the law says about it - it's prostitution and always was, and I don't care about the feelings of prostitutes when they are on the job.

"Dinner and a movie", the traditional "price" for the possibility of action later, is prostitution.

What is in Wikileaks is much more relevant, and who gets to nominate the next Supreme Court justices a great deal more important. Which is why the MSM and liberals want to talk about pussy.
