WATCH:
Ogles mother, Brandi Allen, told police she believes the assault occurred after he posted a pro-police message to Facebook.
Instead of us planning for his 18th birthday, were here, Allen told WBRC from the UAB Hospital on Sunday. Why? Because he made a statement that he backs the blue? Im still trying to understand how someone, no matter the
color of their skin, can do this to another human being.
Allen added that her son received threatening messages after making the post.
My son took it to the principal at Sylacauga High School and I commend him for that. He showed her the threats that were being made to him, but she told him there was nothing she could do. Im appalled.
Sylacauga police are still investigating the assault.
I guess someone thought that NLM was more important. I guess Obunghole's DOJ will consider this 17 yr old as rasis, and give the perps new cell phones. I bet the perps were " gud bois, luv jesis n shit, gonna be dokters n shit.
I pray that God Almighty will touch this 17 yr old, and that he heals & recovers well. I also hope the perps are brought to justice, and do not skate on some PC BS.
If that were my son, I would be so full of rage !!
There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."Theodore Roosevelt-1907.
I am concerned for the security of our great nation; not so much because of any threat from without, but because of the insidious forces working from within." -- General Douglas MacArthur
Say you show up at some rally, carrying a pro-Trump sign, or an "All Lives Matter" sign, or a "Blue Lives Matter" Sign, or whatever. And you're also carrying concealed.
At the rally, six people gang up and start beating the shit out you. You're in fear for your life. You shoot and kill three of the six.
Now, personally, I say good riddance to bad garbage and the guy deserves a medal. But will the prosecutor see it that way? Will the prosecutor say you carried this sign with the intent of provoking people, given that you were armed and could then kill them?
Do you have $250,000 to defend yourself in court of three charges of first degree murder?
But, my first instinct would be to defend myself, and family if with me. The old rule of " Better to be tried by 12, than to be carried by 6 " would prevail.
After action, I guess I would have to take my chances. In my AO, LEO are pretty even, and under the circumstances, would not likely recommend charges, and the citizens would take an extremely dim view of a prosecutor playing such games. And it would be very difficult finding a jury around here that would not agree with my actions as you laid out. Not Guilty by Self Defense would be certain.
My AO has no BLM sympathy.
But I take your point
Too bad the kid did not have a handgun to defend himself ( yeah I know, too young ) , or that he was not accompanied by a bunch of big friends.
Sadly this kind of shit will just occur more & more until. . . .

" better to be judged by twelve than to be carried by six."
The best is to stay out of the courtroom. Even if you win, you lose. "
Well, that is true. However, in your example and theoretical situation, it was unavoidable. Unless one would just stay home & hide under the covers. That would not be much of a life. But if one lives their life, exercises their lawful rights, and is attacked, one would have the right to defend oneself, one would not have much choice, now would they ?
I do not think you are one to live in fear, therefore, I think you would have to agree, right?

Or go to the rally and keep a low profile. Or go to rally and do whatever the hell you want ... but don't carry.
"I do not think you are one to live in fear, therefore, I think you would have to agree, right?
Taking a concealed carry class has a sobering effect. Even if you escape criminal charges, there are possible civil charges -- more so if the scumbag lives and sues for medical care. (The instructors never actually said it, but they made clear that you're better off if he dies.)
If I fear anything it's the capriciousness of the justice system.
" Or go to the rally and keep a low profile. " That would normally be a wise option.
" Or go to rally and do whatever the hell you want " That might not be wise, depending on one's tendencies.
"... but don't carry. " Well, I did not buy a Colt, and get a CCL to leave it in the safe. Besides I prefer to be able to defend my self. And, I do not go around agitating to be attacked.

This may be somewhat analagous to the Subway Shooter case in NYC involving Bernhard Boetz and four black yutes. Goetz shot them up.
The trial verdict found Goetz GUILTY of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree.
The trial verdict found Goetz NOT GUILTY of two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. NOT GUILTY of attempted murder against Darrell Cabey (who was shot twice), and all other charges.
"This may be somewhat analagous to the Subway Shooter case in NYC involving Bernhard Boetz and four black yutes. Goetz shot them up."
And he was doing nothing to provoke them.
I think this case was more about preventing future vigilantes than prosecuting Goetz for what he did. The guy should have been hailed as a hero (crime went down afterwards) and he should have never been charged.
The guy should have been hailed as a hero (crime went down afterwards) and he should have never been charged.
There was enough for a charge and it was best to let the jury decide.
On the gun charge, he was simply guilty.
Goetz gave two confessions.
2. There are two confessions. On the audiotaped confession, given to the New Hampshire police in the early evening of December 31, he says, "You seem to be doing all right; here's another." On the videotaped confession, given later the save evening to New York authorities, he says, "You seem to be all right; here's another." This ambiguity is retained by indicating the word "doing" in brackets throughout the text.
George F. Fletcher, A Crime of Self Defense, The University of Chicago Press, Paperback Edition 1990, Chapter 1, Footnote 2, footnote at p. 219.
At Amazon, used in very good condition for a penny.
Winner of the 1989 Silver Gavel Award of the American Bar Association.
The comment refers to a pause between the initial shots and the second bullet shot at Darrell Cabey (believed to be the fifth and final shot but possibly the fourth). This made it almost impossible to not bring charges. Perhaps James Comey, if available, could have doneso and won the L. Patrick Gray award for exceptional service.
There were also some admissions by the yutes. Troy Canty admitted they all "surrounded the white guy." And "We were going to rob him but the white guy shot us first." [Fletcher, What the Jury Did Not Know, p. 140]
The only way to finally settle what would come in, and what would not, is to procced to trial. The prosecution refrained from calling Canty, so there was no cross-examination of him. After protrated argument, the defense had to use other means to make the point. The fifth shot merited a trial to let the jury decide.
Had he used it to commit a crime, different story.
New York City is strict on gun control and concealed weapons. It is very difficult to get a CCL and Goetz did not have one. His use of the illegally possessed weapon was notorious and was a crime. His going back to one of the shot yutes and saying "You seem to be doing alright; here's another," and shooting him again could well have gotten him a conviction for another crime. It was too big at the time to just drop it.
"His going back to one of the shot yutes and saying "You seem to be doing alright; here's another," and shooting him again could well have gotten him a conviction for another crime."
Could have? I agree. But the fact is, the jury heard all the evidence and cleared him of all the other charges except gun possession.
"His use of the illegally possessed weapon was notorious and was a crime."
Not near the crime of shooting four people. Here in Chicago, "illegal gun possession" is only added to so it can be retracted in a plea bargain.
Back in 2004, a homeowner in Wilmette (a suburb of Chicago) was charged with illegally possessing a gun after he shot a burglar. Big story at the time. The charges were later dropped. I'm saying they could have done the same for Goetz.
