Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump responded to Colin Powell calling him a national disgrace early Thursday, tweeting he was never a fan of the former secretary of State and retired four-star general. Powell also called Trump an "international pariah," in personal emails that were leaked by hackers, according to BuzzFeed and The Daily Caller.
In response to Powell's disdain, Trump tweeted: I was never a fan of Colin Powell after his weak understanding of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq = disaster. We can do much better!
Powell has said the administration of George W. Bush made "terrible strategic mistakes" during the Iraq War.
Powell made the remarks in an email to Emily Miller, a journalist who once worked under Powell as a deputy press secretary at the State Department, on June 17, 2016. In the email, Powell said Trump "is in the process of destroying himself, no need for the Dems to attack him," BuzzFeed reported.
An aide to Powell confirmed the hack Wednesday, telling The New York Times "they are his emails."
Poster Comment:
'Colon' Powell is a political general who was promoted ahead of qualified white officers and then catapulted into the SOS slot where he performed as well as Madeleine Albright. Albright, Powell and Clinton were, of course, disasters. It's common knowledge that Powell could care less about the country and that he is a blatant racist. Powell twice said he would be voting for Obama because is black.
