I love that song but he is a liberal! Part of the hippie movement of the 60's. They had a documentary on him and it just killed me!

That lead to Jimmy Carter the peanut sucker from Plains Georgia, becoming president.

He was part of the liberal left, but that movement was quite a bit different then. Joan Baez was part of the left, but apologized and was embarrassed by what the Democrats did after the treaty was signed. She took it personally how the left abandoned SE Asia, and so many deaths that followed. I believe she was the only one with a sense of honor. I think maybe John Denver was that kind of liberal. The kind that wanted Liberty for men, and equal treatment under the law. Todays liberal wants equality of result, and a tap directly into the revenue stream of private individuals so people can act like the "grasshopper instead of the ant" in that classic fable.

Exercising rights is only radical to two people, Tyrants and Slaves. Which are YOU? Our ignorance has driven us into slavery and we do not recognize it.

By all means, you should just listen to songs performed by conservative artists.

Good luck with that.

Damn hippies! Even the name of the band reeks with libtardedness.

One of my favorites of his was, "Calypso". For a country singer I really liked John Denver as he didn't sound like a redneck and had a beautiful voice. The other one I really loved was Glenn Campbell.

I saw John Denver in Eugene,Oregon way back in the 1970s. I liked him and was sad to see him make his last hit crashing a plane into Montery Bay in Cali.

Calypso was noteworthy because it was part of a very rare record with 2 "A sides." Calypso was originally the B-side to the No. 1 song "I'm sorry." Then as that song began to fade, stations started to realize the other side of the record was pretty good, too. Calypso became a hit on its own, peaking at number 2.

I think there was some good coming from the 60's but mostly bad. All the wrong people were blamed just like today. My problem with hippies/liberals(which misleading term)/progressive/socialist/communist they act without thinking and are not held to pay for the damage afterwards while the rest of us pay for their shit.(im probably preaching to the choir)

Liberty is great but without responsibility or the threat of pain from damage its just a word.

Hey if you have to go that would be a way to go! ;)

I like your motto. You missed one.
8). "Leadership without being held responsible for their actions." This is what is difference between conservatives and progressives. Gandhi would have surely been a conservative in America.

This is the first time I have seen you post here since TOS.

There is a difference between the 60's and 70's. In the sixties, sure there were sex, drugs and rock and roll, but hey, we're just being ourselves and we have good intentions to change the world for the better. By the 70's these hippie dippie types had given up the illusion they were changing anything or even wanted to change anything, and just concentrated on sex, drugs, and rock and roll.

I used to do political forums alot more then I do now. This is the first time I have been here using my LG V10 phone too which I see makes these places more accessable in some ways. So I probably will stop by more often.
