Muskogee, OK — Last week, an innocent 84-year-old grandma was attacked by police, pepper sprayed, arrested, and hospitalized after officers chased her son during a traffic stop. On Friday, the graphic body camera video of that attack was released showing the horrid and outright insane response to her son rolling a stop sign. Police were after the victim’s son, who they say refused to stop and ran into her home instead. When officers showed up, according to Smith and the body camera video, they kicked in her door and as she got up to see who was there — she was met with a face full of chemical agent. “Turn around or I’ll spray you!” screams the cop just before dousing this innocent elderly woman in the face with the painful spray. Smith then falls to the ground in agony. The body cam footage then shows police shoot her son with a taser because they said he refused to come out. With his hands in the air and walking toward police, Smith’s son was tased and fell to the ground. All of this over a stop sign. According to Smith, after police pepper sprayed her for no reason, they arrested her, dragged her to the police car and brought her to jail. Clearly stressed over being kidnapped and thrown in a cell, this 84-year-old grandma began to have a panic attack. She was then rushed to the hospital. The Muskogee police department says they released the body camera footage to maintain public trust in an exhibit of transparency. While it’s certainly noteworthy to release the footage, the last thing this video does is maintain public trust in police. When watching the horrifying video below, ask yourself if you think these cops would treat their own grandma this way. Ms. Smith had committed no crime and posed no danger to these officers, but she was still attacked and her life put at risk. It was unclear as to what police charged the woman with, however, it is likely the standard ‘resisting, interfering, or obstructing.’ Smith now plans to take legal action against the department for her assault and the taxpayers, not police, will be held liable for this disturbing behavior.

The question is over most of our heads. So, let's get an objective opinion from a legal expert, GrandIsland.
No doubt in my mind that our resident badged thug would do the very same thing to his own grandmother. Unquestionably, that only our resident legal advisor can answer the issues in an honest and straight-forward way; so, I agree with you.
Tricky Dicky Nixon and Merle Haggard (@5:15) have a few comments about Muskogee. Well, certainly I think everyone will agree that the original offense, " rolling a stop sign " is a very very serious crime, which more likely was deserving of summary execution on the spot. In this instance, the officers were grossly negligent in not performing their duty. Further, as is plain for all to see, the 84 yo Grandma was indeed threatening to the officers ( SCAREY SCAREY SCAREY ), I am sure several of them wet / soiled their pants, & had to have been in great fear for their lives. Again, the officers were grossly negligent in not performing their proper duty, since the grandma was not blasted with at least 15 rounds of 12 ga 00 Buck, followed with a few 12 ga slugs, and finished off with a couple .40 S&W rounds to the head. . It is obviously a sheer miracle that these brave heroic heroes were able to go home safely, in spite of their neglect. However, in view of their gross negligence of not exterminating everyone in the house, and then burning the place to the ground, the only fitting punishment would be to cancel their Krispy Kreme / Jolly Pirate hero Discount / Reward Cards, and deny them use of cruisers, and force them to ride bicycles, or skateboards. These former heros lack of proper exterminations, and property obliteration has to be such a profound embarrassment to the Muskogee, OK PD. They should all hang their heads in SHAME ! The PD Chief should at least recycle these wimps through the academy. I bet these bunch of duds will be the butt of all the jokes throughout all the neighboring PD's, SO's, and SP's, even the whole state. I bet even the crossing guards will be ashamed of them! This day they put a very big black stain on their department. No Barney Fife Award for them! The first thing I ask myself is why we are seeing an edited video showing only the final few seconds and not seeing the complete video which would show all actions by the cops and the grandma before she was pepper sprayed. While the Muskogee PD released the body camera footage to maintain public trust, the MSM and yellow journalists edited the footage and it does not show what circumstances led up to the pepper spray action. Furthermore, while it is noteworthy to report on this incident, the best thing the MSM and yellow journalists can do is to present all the information and not selectively edited portions to support a biased agenda. There are many reasons to pepper spray a 84-year-old grandma as well as there are many reason not to. The yellow journalist is this article described the grandma as “innocent.” Innocent is defined as “ not responsible for or directly involved in an event yet suffering its consequences.” If I can view the entire video and listen to all the audio, then I can ask myself: Was she directly involved in the event and is she “innocent” or not? Not all grandmothers are sweet little “innocent” things, look at this one: Chicago grandmother charged with first- degree murder after cutting baby's throat with power saw .
