Title: Trump campaign: We're facing an emergency goal of $100,000

Washington (CNN)The Donald Trump campaign on Saturday released its first "emergency" fund-raising email, in response to an ad blitz from the Hillary Clinton campaign. "Right now we're facing an emergency goal of $100,000 to help get our ads on the air. We need your contribution by 11:59 P.M. Tonight," the email from Team Trump said.

"Crooked Hillary is about to invade your TV with ads attacking Mr. Trump. But we're preparing to fight back," it reads. The email promises to release ads attacking Clinton on her role in Benghazi, the integrity of her donors and reported FBI probing of her private email server while secretary of state. The urgent fundraising email is routine for most presidential campaigns. But it's particularly notable since Trump insisted repeatedly during the GOP primary season that he was self-funding his campaign, only to start asking for donations later on. Republican officials and activists are increasingly concerned that Trump is underestimating the fundraising challenge ahead as he faces off against Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee. RELATED: Mitt Romney retreat puts spotlight on Donald Trump's fund-raising problem in critical stretch As the general election heats up, the Clinton campaign on Thursday aired its first general election television ad, targeting Trump for comments about violence at his events and what critics have said was mocking of a disabled New York Times reporter. Despite the Trump campaign's urgent appeal for campaign donations on Saturday afternoon he raised the prospect of paying for his general election bid himself. At a Las Vegas rally, he argued that if GOP establishment types didn't fully support his campaign he could self-fund, rather than relying on the party apparatus to help bring in donations. "Life is like two way street, right?" Trump said. "Otherwise I'll just keep doing what I'm doing. I'll just keep funding my own campaign. I'm ok with that. That's the easy way. I mean for me, that's the easy way. But, hopefully I can continue to go the way we're going, and this weekend we raised a lot of money. We've raised a lot of money for the Republican Party. We'll keep doing it, because we do have tremendous support within the party that I can tell you."

and here I thought his campaign was self financed .

He can't raise enough for his own campaign. John Fund reports that he has not hired for a national campaign. Heck ,it's reported in other sources that he doesn't even have an organization in certain swing states like Ohio and Colorado . But he has this fantasy that he can win NY and Kalifornia .He has no ground game or data analysis and evidently doesn't think he needs it . Evita in contrast not only inherited Bubba's machine. She also has the resources of the emperor's permanent campaign.

He has no coat tails ;and major Republican donors like the Koch Bros are sitting this one out . The RNC gave him a list of 20 donors to schmooze. He got bored after calling 3 of them and did not follow through.

RNC is advising candidates down the ticket that they are on their own ,that they can't count on Trump for financial or other support that the top of the ticket usually provides .

States like Utah and Arizona ,that haven't gone Dem in 2 decades ,are in play for Evita.

And again he has pissed off the party base by supporting the Dem no fly no buy and going against the NRA position that people on the so called terrorist watch list are entitled to due process when their 2nd amendment rights are considered .

The party leadership has taken notice. Paul Ryan still refused his support . Scott Walker and Mark Kirk are back tracking their support. Republican governors in Maryland, Michigan, and Massachusetts have all said they won’t vote for Trump.Trump's attempt to consolidate Repub support has largely been abandoned . Now he boast he can do it on his own . He is very wrong. He is possibly headed for an electoral defeat of historic proportions . That is why the party leadership is seriously considering denying him the nomination at the convention by any means .

He didn't need to raise $$$ in the primary because all the media attention benefited him.

Even negative reporting helped him with that ~ 40% of GOP primary voters.

Those fools seemed to think it would work the exact same way in the general election.

Well his poll numbers diving the past few weeks should kill that stupid myth.

Apparently not.

Hope he figures out that even as a billionaire he cannot catch up to the Clinton crime family money in this campaign. They have a huge advantage of time and it seems a full proof way of laundering foreign money through the Clinton crime Foundation.

I'll just keep funding my own campaign. I'm ok with that

This beggars belief, that a man worth billions would be appealing for what is essentially petty cash, no wonder he fired his campaign manager, get a grip!

Yes it appears he thinks having to spend his own money to get elected is beneath him, but he has told us he will do it if he has to. What does a voyage to planet Trump cost, I wonder? Us mere mortals will never know

What I'm hearing is that big time donors don't want to contribute because they are concerned that Trump will use the donations to pay off his personal loans to the campaign . Turns out his "self funding " was just cutting loans to the campaign.

a very savvy way of financing a campaign, loan the money and get it back later if support is good, otherwise write it off against tax. I expect Dump will have many ways of making money out of the campaign

earlier speculation was that he wanted to set up his own network .

Some of the filthy rich are the biggest penny pinchers.

Mix that philosophy with risk, the desire for self sufficiency and a set of BALLS... and you get a Trump or most of the wealthy. Take away the balls, risk and cheapness... and you get a debt loaded middle to lower class that desires to tax the bejesus out of the wealthy to help their misery because they feel everyone is equal.

We ain't equal. We never were... we shouldn't treat people equally. We should treat them fairly.

I'm the infidel... Allah warned you about. كافر المسلح
