There was a significant drop in the number of officers killed on-duty in 2015 compared to the spike the previous year.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation announced on Monday that 2015 saw a nearly 20% decrease in officers feloniously killed from 51 cops killed in 2014 to 41 last year.
The new statistic challenges arguments suggesting a war on police which blamed everything from the Black Lives Matter movement to Beyoncé for cops being killed.
The rhetoric reached its peak in December 2014, after NYPD officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu were murdered in a revenge assassination in Brooklyn by a crazed gunman out to kill cops.
