Louisiana enacted a new law Thursday to make it a hate crime to attack police officers. Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards signed the “Blue Lives Matter” bill Thursday afternoon, adding police to the list of protected categories under hate crime law such as race and religion. Louisiana law adds an additional five years in prison and $5,000 in fines for an offense against one of the listed groups, which now includes cops, firefighters, and EMS personnel. “The overarching message is that hate crimes will not be tolerated in Louisiana,” Edwards said. The funeral Tuesday for a Virginia police officer killed on her first day of work serves as the latest reminder of an uptick of fatal police shootings so far this year. Of 14 line-of-duty deaths of law enforcement officers recorded in the first two months of 2016, 11 were the result of a gun being used against the officer. As of this time last year, only one of the 15 officers’ deaths was firearm- related, which implies greater willingness on the part of offenders to go after the cops. Shootings are generally the leading cause of death each year for officers killed in the line of duty, but a quick succession of shooting deaths in February coupled with recent anti-police rhetoric has heightened some law enforcement officials concern over deaths this year. “I cannot recall any time in recent years when six law enforcement professionals have been murdered by gunfire in multiple incidents in a single week,” said Craig Floyd, CEO of the Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund, remarking on a particularly violent week in February. Six officers and deputies were fatally shot in incidents in Georgia, North Dakota, Maryland, Oregon and Colorado between Feb. 5 and 11. Though the recent spate of fatal shootings produces a dramatic 1000 percent increase in the number of officers fatally shot in the first two months of 2016 compared to 2015 — 11 deaths compared to one death — the data appears to reflect an abnormally low number of shootings in the beginning of 2015.

There should be no need for hate crime laws for cop killers with Donald Trump as president. While accepting the endorsement of the New England Police Benevolent Association, Trump said: "One of the first things I do, in terms of executive order if I win, will be to sign a strong, strong statement that will go out to the country -- out to the world -- that anybody killing a policeman, policewoman, a police officer -- anybody killing a police officer, the death penalty. It's going to happen, OK?" In his brief remarks, Trump touted the role of police officers in the face of terrorist threats, pointing to the actions of local police officers last week in the San Bernardino terrorist attack. He also called for police to have military-style equipment and vehicles. Trump said: "We've got to let our police have the finest equipment and the finest training, and if we don't, we're making a tremendous mistake as a country." What you and the other asshole Paultards need to realize is that Trump will bring some needed changes and point this country in the “right” direction.

At least that's what Gatlin and the Trump cult believes. Every US Presidential election has this euphoric tsunamis of "everything is going to be beautiful" by a pile of voting fools, each and every election. And then the realization sets in: nothing but the worse possible nitemare has happened: more federal debt, higher taxes, more wars around the world, a more efficient police state to murder Americans while letting illegals off the hook. They are a depressing pile of non-critical thinkers.
Gatlin's Thomas Edison theory is that it takes one thousand failures like Bush, Clinton, Obama, Trump, etc... to get one "hope & change" light bulb success. So he votes for Republicans or Democrats to reach 1,000 failures as quickly as possible. He votes for Herbie "Poppy" Bush & Bob Dole to get Bill Clinton for eight years, and McCain and Romney to get Obama for 8 years, then he'll vote for Trump to get Hillary Rodham.
