He can do whatever he wants in his house.

Of course, if one day he says Bush is a coke head and the next day he praises Bush, and then spouts other unintelligible beliefs, and wants to charge large sums of money to enter his house, it is my right to make fun of him.

... the clown in the picture.

The salary for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Baily clowns ranges from $85,000 to $92,000 a year.

The rodeo clowns who distract bulls so riders can get away safely from them earn about $51,000 a year.

Donald Trump’s yearly salary is $476,500,000.

With that kind of income, I certainly would never call Trump a clown.

But give me a 476 million dollar a year in income and you can call me a Otto Griebling.

Otto Griebling was the prolific and influential Master Clown with the Cole Bros. and Ringling circuses. He was single most admired and respected American circus clown of the 20th century. Oh, what a shocker for you to learn that a clown can be admired and respected … after your failed attempt to make a disparaging remark.

The Donald is likely to appoint you Czar of Transgender Bathrooms!

I could not accept the job because I would have trouble comprehending a person’s life as a closeted transsexual. I have read the thing to understand about the life of a closeted transsexual is that they are endlessly posting stupid pictures and cartoons on a forum captioned with snide remarks.

Another problem I would have accepting the job is that I would constantly be grasping for clues regarding what kind of behavior to expect from a closeted transsexual during his nerve-wracking struggle to fit in. Perhaps you can help me. Do you find your natural inclinations on how to act are wrong for you in your perceived gender life? When these “wrong” things come out for you, is it simply an awkward silence or sometimes mockery?

Perhaps the biggest problem I would have in dealing with a closeted transsexual is the consequence indirectly implied above … that is self- loathing. By the way, how are you handling your problem with this?

Hopefully this helps to explain why I could not accept the job and at the same time make your coming out aspect more understandable to those in your life.

FR has never been a “free speech” forum.

Of course not, nor need it be - but that wasn't the point of the article to which JR was disingenuously responding. The article's point, which he ducked:

"If Facebook has a right to turn itself into a clone of Huffington Post, then Free Republic has a right to turn itself into a volunteer propaganda organ for the Trump campaign.

"But those of us on the right should take a deep breath and wonder whether adopting a policy of political uniformity—in this case, not loyalty to an ideology or even a party, but loyalty to a single man—is importing the same illiberal habits of thought that we denounce when we encounter them on the left. And the same hypocritical preening about how independent and free- thinking we still are."

Anyone dumb enough to give money to a site that censors political speech deserves to lose it.

FR bans those with higher than room temperature IQs.

Who runs FR?

Free Republic, LLC is a non-commercial, limited liability company founded and operated by Jim Robinson (jimrob@psnw.com), a private citizen of Fresno California.

Free Republic is not a for profit commercial enterprise in the sense of a traditional business selling a product or service at a profit for its shareholders. We sell no product or service. We have no clients, customers or employees. We do not accept paid advertising. Free Republic is not affiliated with any political party, group, news source, government agency or anyone else.

Free Republic is not a traditional business. We are a political discussion forum and independent grassroots conservative activist group supported by donations from our readers and participants. When and if our participants decide we are no longer needed or viable, we will close down shop and go away.

Free Republic operates on an approximate $360,000 annual budget (click for breakdown) which includes all equipment costs, bandwidth fees, consulting and labor costs, administrative costs, license fees, insurance, rents, communications costs, office expenses, advertising, travel, professional fees, banking and credit card fees, taxes, etc. Like most labor intensive organizations, the bulk of our costs are personnel related. We have one general manager and webmaster, one systems, programming and computer guru, one programming and management assistant and one bookkeeper/business administrator. The four of us are all members (partners) of the LLC. We own and operate our own servers and our proprietary software was developed and is maintained inhouse.

Free Republic is not a charity or IRS non-profit organization. We do not raise funds for charitable purposes or causes. We raise funds solely to cover our operating costs, labor, and all applicable state and federal income and payroll taxes.

Free Republic, LLC is a non-commercial, limited liability company

Free Republic LLC is a for-profit company. The LLC is the owner of the website. Jim Robinson is one of the members of the LLC.

Free Republic is not a for profit commercial enterprise in the sense of a traditional business selling a product or service at a profit for its shareholders.

Free Republic is a for-profit enterprise in the sense of making money for the members of the LLC.

It operates as a pass-through corporation, with the profits passing through to the LLC members, to be reported by them as personal income.

Saying FR is not a for profit commercial enterprise in the sense of a traditional business is but to avoid overtly saying that FRis a for profit enterprise in what FR says is a non-traditional business. When the wordsmithing is boiled down, FR is a for-profit business.

Just for the record, here is where the court determined Free Republic was a for-profit limited liability company.

B. Defendants' Profit Or Non-Profit Status

The parties dispute whether Free Republic is a for-profit or not-far-profit entity. Despite this purported disagreement, it appears uncontroverted that Free Republic is presently a for-profit limited liability company. Free Republic's corporate counsel is currently preparing documents seeking tax-exempt status for the Free Republic Institute, a company incorporated on September 27, 1999. Nothing has yet been submitted to the IRS, however, and tax-exempt status has not been granted.

So FR produces nothing, offers no services other than the existence of the website, and the corporation just funnels money as income to its owners?

Who woulda thunk it.

Obama has played at being a president while enjoying the perks … golf, insanely expensive vacations at tax-payer expense. He has ignored the responsibilities of the job; no plans, no budgets, no alternatives … just finger pointing; making him a complete failure as a president

Who woulda thunk it.

The court certainly did. Back at the time of the lawsuit, FR, LLC claimed to be a not-for-profit organization.

FR's changing self-description:

2/29/2000: "Free Republic, LLC is a non-commercial not-for-profit (filing for 501(c)(4) non-profit status is pending) limited liability company."

2/8/2001: "Free Republic is not a for profit commercial enterprise in the sense of a traditional business selling a product or service at a profit for its shareholders."

The 2001 sleight of hand does not claim FR is a non-profit. It claims FR is not a for profit commercial enterprise in the sense of a traditional business, i.e., it is a for-profit business as far as the courts and the IRS are concerned.

The 2001 statement cites FR, not FR LLC. Oe might say it only references the web site, not the corporate entity.

As would anybody who realizes that a very simple website with almost no updates isn't that expensive at all to operate.

Maybe Stone should start running beg-a-thons.
