Kacish has apparently quit the race along with Cruz and will sit it out on the bench waiting for the convention when someone might throw him a bone or perhaps he is hoping a calamity will befall Dump.

This makes the next few weeks interesting but not newsworthy so we can expect the media to find something else to write about, no doubt Kerry's interest in Syria will rate a mention and we will get updates on progress of the war on daesh, you remember that war

He got Cruz to drop out of the race . Mission accomplished . I'm sure he'll be rewarded with a VEEP selection ,despite his denial that he is interested in the position.

Yes politics makes strange bedfellows and sometimes you have to stay one back to win later. Dump will need someone with organisational skills to find the funding needed and the ground support as well as that good savvy on how the House and Senate work, despite appearances bull and bluster don't work there

If sometthing befalls Trump, the convention will choose Jeb!, and, all things considered, that would probably even be their best choice. The rest are cranks or fringe elements or childish. And without Trump the GOP won't win anyway, so may as well let the Bushes make a three-fer out of it all.

Trump's best choice would be Ryan.

Actually, his BEST choice would be Sanders, but he's already ruled that out.

Kasich WOULD have been his best choice, but Kasich proved to be a delusional clown.

Christie doesn't have legislative experience.

Rubio...meh.

Boehner would anger the base too much.

Gingrich is too old and too morally compromised.

Why are you in a hurry to vote for Trump? What has he ever suggested that he advocates individual liberties and freedoms?

The only individual freedoms and liberties he seems to enjoy is waving a night stick and flashing a badge; of course, along with all his gear he loves his hand held "STOP" sign while accompanying little kids to/from elementary school.

I like the fact that he values the freedom to be as rich as you can be (capitalism, dumb dumb) or as dirt poor as your lazy ass will allow.

He won't show weakness towards the dyfunctionally lazy like both the loser (R) and (D) regular career politicians.

Only a moron would say something so stupid. An anti christian.

Social welfare is as Christian as transubstantiation.

The thing is, Sanders and Trump are close on at least four key things, including foreign policy, trade, the need for honesty in government, and the need to take care of American workers. Also, they're both protective of gun rights, Sanders more than Trump.

AND each mobilized huge voter bases running as outsiders.

The Republican Establishment failed to stop Trump, but the Democrat establishment will stop Bernie with super delegates. There are going to be a lot of pissed off Independents and Bernie Democrats who will be furious to have had the election stolen by chicanery. If Bernie were on the ticket with Trump, they'd follow him, and there would be a great centrist uniting for common sense things.

As Veep, Sanders' crazy ideas would be off the table, and he'll be too old to be President in 8 years.

So really, Trump/Sanders is a sure way to win the election.

But don't worry. Trump has already flatly said he'll choose a Republican Veep.

Trump has long been a crony capitalist voicing support for liberal positions while lining the pockets of liberal politicians. He's played "conservative" for no longer than he's had serious presidential ambitions.

and you think Trump isn't thinking that way ? Why was Nikki Haley floated as a possible running mate ? You forgot to add that Martinez is also conservative and has similar positions on border security .

Anyway ,it is not happening . Martinez openly criticized his tone and wants nothing to do with him. That makes how many who have publicly declined ?

Newt or Christie may be the only options .

Great choice . I'd take him . But I think the only reason Trump would take him is if he thought he desperately had to shore up his support with the base. I get the impression that Trump wants to forge a different base of support. This week he was openly courting the Bolshevick Bernie supporters .
