Kacish has apparently quit the race along with Cruz and will sit it out on the bench waiting for the convention when someone might throw him a bone or perhaps he is hoping a calamity will befall Dump. This makes the next few weeks interesting but not newsworthy so we can expect the media to find something else to write about, no doubt Kerry's interest in Syria will rate a mention and we will get updates on progress of the war on daesh, you remember that war

Yes politics makes strange bedfellows and sometimes you have to stay one back to win later. If sometthing befalls Trump, the convention will choose Jeb!, and, all things considered, that would probably even be their best choice. The rest are cranks or fringe elements or childish. And without Trump the GOP won't win anyway, so may as well let the Bushes make a three-fer out of it all.
Trump's best choice would be Ryan. Actually, his BEST choice would be Sanders, but he's already ruled that out. Kasich WOULD have been his best choice, but Kasich proved to be a delusional clown. Christie doesn't have legislative experience. Rubio...meh. Boehner would anger the base too much. Gingrich is too old and too morally compromised.

If Bernie were on the ticket with Trump, they'd follow him, and there would be a great centrist uniting for common sense things. As Veep, Sanders' crazy ideas would be off the table, and he'll be too old to be President in 8 years. So really, Trump/Sanders is a sure way to win the election. But don't worry. Trump has already flatly said he'll choose a Republican Veep.
