Donald Trump Tuesday praised Ted Cruz as a "smart guy" after the Texas senator quit the Republican presidential race in light to the developer's landslide victory in the Indiana primary. "I have met some of the most incredible competitors that I have ever competed against right here in the Republican Party," Trump said to cheering supporters at his victory speech at Trump Tower in New York City. "We started off with 17 — and just so you understand, Ted Cruz, I don't know if he likes me or if he doesn't like me, but he is one hell of a competitor. Special: Online Jewelry Auction. Rings, Watches, Earrings Starting at $1 "He is a tough, smart guy," Trump continued. "And he has got an amazing future. He's got an amazing future. "So, I want to congratulate Ted. I know how tough it is. It's tough. It's tough. I've had some moments where it was not looking so good — and it's not a great feeling. "I understand how Ted feels and Heidi and their whole beautiful family," he added. "I want to just say, though, that's one tough competitor."

Good to see Trump being gracious in victory.
A government strong enough to impose your standards is strong enough to ban them. Trump did not say this. A government strong enough to impose your standards is strong enough to ban them. It's true. Ted is tough. I want Trump to put Ted Cruz in charge of the Wall, in charge of the deportations - in charge of the hard stuff that will be unpopular, because Cruz will get it done. He's like a dog with a bone when he gets going. It was annoying when he was going after my guy, but now we're all Republicans again, and we can unite behind this leader. Cruz should not be Veep, but he SHOULD be Homeland Security (better pick than Guiliani).
