I think where we differ is that you seem to think that he was wrong to not report his suspicions to law enforcement. I would say that depends completely on the depth of his suspicions. I consider law enforcement to be corrupt and often criminal, and I reject any notion that one ever has a DUTY to go to law enforcement to report things. If Paterno did not particularly suspect the coach of anything egregious, because he was focused on other things, I do not believe that he should be held "accountable" for anything - he did nothing wrong.
