How solemn the warning of these ancient records! It is a good and wise principle to be moderate in all things—in all things except in giving our God his rightful place. Jesus was sold for thirty pieces of silver, but he redeemed the world. Jesus was brought as a lamb to the slaughter, but he is the Good Shepherd. Jesus died, yet by his death he destroyed the power of death.’ The ‘abomination that causes desolation’ is a term for the antichrist union of Church and State. It literally means an idolatrous power, worshipped by unbelievers, that persecutes and desolates. The union of Church and State in the last days will create an abomination that will desolate God’s true people. Was there an application of ‘the abomination of desolation’ during Passion Week? It instructive to examine one of the successful patented medicines, acetylsalicylic acid, was patented in 1900 by the German Bayer company, trademarked as "Aspirin" (now passed into the general vocabulary), and marketed as a wonder drug. You can argue all you want that from literal-historical hermeneutics a perpetually virgin Mary is nonsense, but you are going to find out that the RCC allegorical approach to the Mary paradigm has such a firm grasp on simony and so much SPAM that it is to Romanists therefore both an honorable and just ploy to cement customers to the brand such that they will never give it up and go back to true New Testament doctrine. Besides, those Mary statuettes are so pretty that no religious home should be without them. And a Sallman's "Head of Christ." With a populated crucifix and candle beneath it.
